Default Rescue Remedy/ Gaba

Is anyone familiar with using either of these products. Are they helpful?
I'm looking for anxiety/depression relief. Cannot take Rx's. Too many side effects. Thanks

hi Katie

we always have bach's rescue remedy on hand here and find it excellent for a quick calm in stressful/anxious times. It is made from flowers so just be sure you arent allergic to any of the ingredients

my son used GABA for anxiety some years back and did find it very helpful

Smile Rescue Remedy

Hi Katie!

My response is coming in a little late.

I do not know what you and your doc have decided; yet, I had wanted to tell you many people do well with Bach's Rescue Remedy! The mention about allergens is an excellent warning...definitely always be mindful of allergens!

If someone is sensitive to an alcohol base in a tincture, an herbalist can often make up the same or a very similar tincture using a glycerin base, instead of alcohol. Additionally, an herbalist can custom mix herbal tinctures using herbs you know you are not allergic to. If a formula has a component you cannot tolerate, an herbalist can make up the formula without the elements you do not want in the mix. A good herbalist can also suggest alternative herbs that may serve you in the same manner as an herb you cannot tolerate.

I k now of many people using this formula and/or a personally tailored formula very similar to this. (Tailored by an herbalist!)

We have used Bach's Rescue Remedy while training dogs within training centers! This works very well with the more anxious pups, new to the training (group class) experience! This has helped to eliminate their anxiety/stress and therefore, their anxiety response is not reinforced repeatedly. They soon learn the have no need for an anxious response withn that setting!

It's quite easy to place sublingual drops under a pup's (of full grown dog's) tongue very quickly! Rescue remedy acts almost immediately..it does not take long at all!

(Of course, always check with you doctor and/or vet before using any supplements! Also... it is wise to keep your eyes open for any new research/information on all supplements, as new information comes out frequently. Sometimes this means not using something you had been using...because studies have shown some previously unknown/unexpected adverse reactions, etc.)

Best of luck to you!

(I am not a health professional. Any expereinces/opinions I have shared are simply based upon my own limited experience. Please do contact a health/veternarian professional before using supplements of any type.)
