Default Two questions about supplements

1. Is there aywhere (in England) that I can buy fish oil (NOT fish liver oil)/EPA&DHA capsules without gelatin? I know Holland & Barratt do fish liver oil with V-caps, but I can't find any of what I want without gelatin. I know flaxssed can help with EPA levels, but it's not as effective.

2. The magnesium citrate tablets I have are really big to swallow and they hurt every time I do so. Do you think it's okay to chew them?

Thanks in advance

Lightbulb fish oil also comes in liquid form...

You'll have to ask for it in the store.

Just make sure it does not say Cod Liver oil.

This is an example of one:

You can break the mag citrate up. You can also buy it in a powder.

Mag citrate also comes in a liquid..very inexpensive. But you need to measure it
carefully to avoid too much and then getting the laxative effect.

Thanks

Does the liquid form need to be kept in the fridge?

Hello Greyhound,

There are EPA/DHA vegan supplements available in a non-gelatin capsule. Here is part of my post on another thread:

Quote:
3. DHA Supplements

If walnut and linseed therapy fails to increase DHA and EPA to acceptable levels, I have no option but to take supplements.

This is not so easy for vegetarians or vegans because most of the available supplements are derived from oily fish (yuk!).

Another problem with most supplements, affecting carnivores as well, is the risk of heavy-metal poisoning. So, I will leave it to others to eat their mercury flavoured juice squeezed from bodies of oily fish!

Fortunately, there are now non-animal DHA/EPA supplements commercially available. I imported a three-month supply of "V-Pure" DHA/EPA vegan capsules from Switzerland; they arrived very promptly. These contain oil from farmed algae, and are claimed to be free of heavy metals. You can find the suppler at this link: http://www.water4.net/index.htm

I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the V-Pure product because I am still in the "Walnut Therapy" stage of investigation. I expect the capsules to push my DHA and EPA levels well into the normal range. I will let you know the results.
The above quote is from post # 27 on this thread:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread6092-3.html

I am way overdue to post the results of my EFA testing, on that thread, but have had to give priority to my B12 problems.

Paul
