Default Fish Oil/Flax upper limit?

I have an unreal amount of dryness through out my whole body including my severe dry eye, skin, hair etc. Also so much inflammation as I have infections that are never managed by meds even. Anyhow I was taking fish oil/flax oil but then have stopped. Why I don't know.Anyhow I want to go back to it and wanted to try to take the upper limit for best and quicker results. Can you tell me how much of each daily is ok? I don't have blood clot issues or diareah issues. My pills are 1200mg for fish oil and 1000mg flax. Also any other supplements for my symptoms. I have been tested for everything that could be leading to this. Thanks

People with cancer, use flax oil (from a bottle typically refrigerated) mixed in cottage cheese. The sulfur in the cottage cheese enhances the actions of flax.

Here is her story:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...967#post238967

I've known Pansy for a LONG time. She took my EFA suggestions and turned her life around!

I would suggest you take some evening primrose once a day with it to get best results. If you do this, you don't need high dose fish oil, just a basic amount. Your body will make the long chain EFAs in fish oil, by itself.
You can start with the two tablespoons as Pansy suggested. Her high dose had to do with her breast cancer issues.

With your past eating disorder...you have to understand that for a long time you
were not getting EFAs at all. Many things in your body suffered as a result.
So focusing on this beginning nutrient is critical for you. We cannot live with them, you know.

Thank you for the inspirational story. I really need that hope. I agree that the repair is going to take a long time. I need to do it though as efficient as possible as I am breaking down physically everywhere. I am somewhat confused and just read about the evening primrose as I have never heard of it.
First though with the cottage cheese may I take flaxseed pill supplements instead of the oil?
Could I take both the upper amount on the flaxseed pills and fish oil pills that is said on the bottle?
Also is the primrose available in pill and how much? I read about the siezure side effects but is that only a concern if you have them before?
Any other side effects that could be an issue with any of this
Also any other supplement you feel I could benefit from?
Right now I take calcium with d,vitamin c,multi, magnesium glycinate and was wondering about starting vitamin e
Lastly I think highly of you Mrs D and if you were I what would you take daily. I have in addition to the peripheral neuropathy, rsd, osteoprosis, severe dry eye/blepheritis,seborehic dermitits.
Thank you so much I appreciate it

Hello Daniella,

Im as dry as you are I know how difficult it is... how unconfortable... hate being this dry

Im back to my flaxseed oil... I had stopped it. I take it now with yogurt and I think it works better than when I took only the pills with water...
Perhaps cottage cheese is even better.

What is primrose ? *runs to search in the net...

Do you know if GNC sell capsules ?? or, where can I find the primrose oil ?

Thanks !

The primrose oil (also borage will work) contains GLA which is needed to convert Flax to long chain fatty acids.

Females convert more than males anyway. (because females have to supply the fetus' growing brain with EFAs.)

But it doesn't hurt females to have a little GLA when taking alot of flax. It is just a facilitator.

Yes. That is how we did it 10+yrs ago!
There were not so many choices back then.

After improvements were stable I cut back on the primrose, thinking it wasn't as necessary once you built back up.
You don't need very much of it compared to the other two.
