Here is a good monograph on it:
http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/hawthorn-000256.htm I am careful about this herb. I don't think it should be taken unless there is a real need for it, and then it should be monitored by a doctor. People in the younger age groups do not have the potential need for it.

so i ended up trying this herb. and for some reason, the effects i got from it felt like euphoria, but probably just because i felt like i had increased circulation and dilation of blood vessels. i took this brand, so it felt powerful.
http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Hawth...Vcaps/639?at=0 but, i would like a recommendation of a product with a lower amount of hawthorn, so that i could actually take it without, feeling too crazy. it really is a good herb. but has to be taken in lower amounts i believe, especially in younger people. it almost felt liek a cure for the issues i was having.

You'll just have to do a search online for a product that is less if you feel this is too strong for you.
Or open the caps and dump 1/2 out per dose. You can buy empty capsules at some health food stores. Please be careful with it. Anything that affects the heart, should be used with caution. Mixing with other drugs may be problematic.

Its a good heart supplement, but check with your doctor on dosage if your on betablockers or other heart medication. If you have low blood pressure or arrhythmias, becareful.. but Hawthorn is generally safe.
Its used in Europe for heart health all the time. |
