Take it with food. Some people get reflux or heartburn with
B-complex. My son claims to have this. Others don't. It depends on the dose you are using, and whether you drink enough liquid with it. Dry swallowing is not a good idea with B-complex.

Thanks for the hint MrsD....
You know, I used to take it with food, but when I really started to feel it was working, was when I started taking it with an empty stomach... so... But, does it work also when taken with food ?? |

The plain B12 alone, should be taken on an empty stomach. It should not cause any upset at all.

The type of Niacin - B3 found in a lot of Multi B Vits can cause upset stomach in some people especially.

You could also try getting a B Complex with fewer ingredients that cause intolerance's. Jarrow, Country Life, Nature Made...just a few who have a listing of the ingredients never in their product. I always get no gluten, no soy, no corn, no sugar, no artificial colors or flavorings, etc.
There is much controversy out there as to if you need to take B12 on an empty stomach or with food. For most, it is an individual decision. However, you do need to always take a methylcobalamin as opposed to cyancobalamin. I take 5000 mcg daily, and I always take it after I have eaten my breakfast, as does my friend. I have tremondously slowed my neuropathy with B12, and my friend, who has just started taking B12 daily in January, now is getting feeling back in his feet, this is very promising. I also take folic acid to assist it.

I will start taking it with food next week I think... when this colic leaves me in peace ! I dont want to bother my stomach even more... lol, I mean, in case that even with food vit B keeps bothering my stomach...
I really hope I can continue taking it... It helped me A LOT with my pain, my mood, my eyes, my sleep, my neuropathy, etc, etc, etc.... |

Right,
I have been taking my vit B with food and the stomach problems are over, BUT, I do think that it is not working as good as it did when I was taking it with an empty stomach... My question is: should I take a double dosis !? I mean, to see if I get the effect I was having before.... Thanks ! |
