i really, really hate lies......if they would at least be up front and say they wont do it, rather than say they cant.......it interfers with the trust factor, in my opinion

Well, my impression is this:

If you asked for Vicodin without the Tylenol...the answer is correct. There are NO stand alone hydrocodone products available. They can be compounded, but no insurance will cover it, and perhaps it would be hard to find a pharmacy to do it, and it would cost a bundle of money. It becomes CII if done by a compounding pharmacy.

All doctors know there are stand alone opiates, like morphine. So I don't think you were lied to. Only that your question was answered in a specific way.

I have as needed meds like vicodin and darvocet but on the rsd board someone was saying how they take aleve otc. I know there is a concern with Tylenol and liver but what about aleve on a reg basis? Also on a side note I know my dad takes asprin daily for heart health but if one were to take this could it help with pain? I know not the narcotic level flare ups but on a day to day. Sorry to ask so much on your thread.
