Default Worried about liver problems in future from so many meds...

Can Milk Thistle help detox the tylenol I am forced to take with my pain medicine? Any other suggestions for detoxing bad drugs? I take psyche meds too and need to make sure my body is able to get rid of the garbage that is put into it.

I definitely worry the most about the darn tylenol that is mixed in with my pain med.

Lightbulb

During acute Tylenol poisoning the antidote administered is NAC (n-acetyl cysteine)

Here is a monograph on it.

I do not know what dose you would need, however. That would depend on the degree of liver damage you may have. I'd check with your doctor.

Milk Thistle is okay to use too.
Here is a monograph on it too:

Thanks MrsD! I don't think I have too much damage yet, only been taking pain meds for seven years. But I do worry about the future. I will talk to my dr, going in in June to see my PCP and will talk to him about it then.

As well as the ones that mrsD has suggested, there is also Dandelion Tea.

Pam, is there some way of getting the other meds without the tylenol added? That's scary having to take that for so long.

Food Sources of Glutathione and Supplementation

Glutathione may not be well absorbed into the body when taken by mouth, and one option is to take it by vein. However, it is more practical to take the precursors to glutathione – the substances that the body needs to make glutathione.

Food sources of the precursors – cysteine, glycine, and glutamic acid include:

# poultry
# wheat
# broccoli
# eggs
# garlic
# onicapsicum
# meat
# fish
# dairy products
# beans
# fruits
# vegetables
# asparagus
# avocado
# walnuts

: No idea what an "onicapsicum" is. We call Bell Peppers "capsicum" here, but I don't know what an Onicapsicum could be.

I take a tablet three times a day with 350 mgs of Tylenol and it scares me but they won't rx things here without tylenol because of people selling their drugs on the streets and people buying them and overdosing being IDIOTS by shooting up the crap or snorting it. INSANE if you ask me.

Pam, what I would do is just tell your doctor when you go back in June about your concerns and get some liver enzyme tests and see how they are working. All may be fine, and that at least will ease your concerns.

It's probably all working fine now, but what about seven more years of it? I won't suddenly stop being in pain you know? I have partially nerniated discs in my neck and chronic pain from broken bones in my back and leg that never goes away even with the hydrocondone I take. I am just worried about the future since the last seven years slipped right by...

i dont know a hydrocodone product with 350 of apap, 325/500/750
350 3xs daily isnt bad....750 3xs daily is pushing it, on a chronic basis.
and the docs are feeding you a line on selling bit, with tylenol gets sold as well. good luck

You're right pabb, I was wrong, its 325, I had it wrong. I thought it was a line of baloney too, but they insist they can't do it.
