One of my family members uses this for occassional insomnia and does very well. She takes 1 mg.
Even this small dosage makes me a little sleepy in the morning.
Over the years, I have heard of folks taking 1-3 mgs for insomnia and it not being a problem.
However, I personally have found even 1 mg. to make me a little tired in the morning. Additionally, I'm not sure how much it helps me sleep...perhaps a little.
I understand tablets less/under 1 mg are available at the LEF company.
I have thought about giving it a try.

bruegger84Not to change the subject, but...Thayers Dry Mouth Spray...doe sit work well? I have a terrible time with dry mouth. They tell me it's because of the CPAP, yet it even happens when I do not have the CPAP on. Where do you get it, all I have seen is Biotech?

Now, go back on topic!

Vowel Lady are you on any night time meds? It seems like the melatonin unless it mixes with meds or one has a fluke reaction is safe.
Darlind I have very bad dry mouth too. I was reading about these sprays or even mouth washes. Also having a sugar free hard candy or gum helps though for me the sugar free hard candy makes my stomach ick. I also read about omegas. They suggested that for my dry eye too

I do take some medication in the evening...small dosages. I don't usually have insomnia. Actually, if and when I do, I have used a tiny dosage of Tryptophan with success. I have thought of trying the little Melatonin dosage that I saw is now available at LEF to see if this would work. I understand there are some potential health benefits with Melatonin.
