Default Early Wednesday Check In !!!

Ok friends, I apologize for my absence the last couple of days and, when I look back, for not being around much the whole month of January so far. First, I had a 5 day pain flare after the holidays and I was barely over that when a stomach flu hit. I started Physical Therapy again last week. Then this past Monday I had a doctors appointment out of town. Yesterday our computers were down - some local line issue and NOW is about the only time I'm going to be around until tomorrow afternoon. Whew - did ya catch all that? Bottom line is that I miss all of you and see that you have busy already this week.

My husband and I are in week Two on our diet using the online Weight Watchers program. Now it is getting darn hard. But we have found some great recipies online and I'm even getting Mike back into the kitchen to help me cook - YIPPEE! Gee, I figure I have ONLY about 22 more weeks if all goes well - gotta keep positive .

HERE'S A QUESTION: How many of you take a day off from your diet to eat something not on your approved list? And, if so, how often do you enjoy these, "Days Off the Diet"? (I guess that was 2 questions.)

Wow - it was so much fun seeing all your pictures from the last couple of days - like I've said, you've been busy. I loved them all!

Billie - I am so impressed that you and Gaye are getting together for a face to face visit. That sounds like such a blast - I can just hear you two talking now. You better rest up - both of you!!! And take lots of pictures to share.

Well, have a great Wednesday, everyone. I hope to check back in after Physical Therapy tomorrow afternoon.

Happy Dieting,
nancyh

Well, since everyone is so interested in my tortoises...I should share my weblog about them www.tortiehorde.blogspot.com . Most of them are of Daisy Mae and her adventures.

Heart Hi Everyone~

I am geting company in less than an hour so I can only be on here as short time.

Nancy. we have missed you! I thought maybe you were sick. I'm glad you are just busy. Oh yes, I take time off from my diet, but I have a hard time geting back on it also. Once I eat the things I crave, I want more. LOL

Wendy, I'll have to look at you pic's later. I'm running late. Had company last night, then was on line. I got to straighten the house before company comes.

Nancy, I was wondering about where you were and if you were OK, glad you're back. Hope PT goes well.
I have a hard time staying on my plan and seem to go off more than I am on. When I am really losing and staying on plan, I do take a day off just to keep life fun. I think I will check out the Weight Watchers site. Although I think for my self I am going to HAVE to learn to just eat less...at least I think that might work?

Wendy, I went to your tortieblog and enjoyed it very much. Wish you had a web cam on your cuties, what fun that would be to get to watch them. The parrot forum I have gone on before has had people put cams on their baby birds and it is so sweet to see the little babies.

Billie enjoy your company.

I am scared of snow Curious, it's always ice here when it snows in Georgia and we don't have the equipment to clear it away in our little town. I wouldn't mind seeing some real snow...you know the soft kind that can be walked and played in!

I weighed yesterday and I weigh 211 1/2. Not as much as I thought it would be, I was glad about that. At least I have not gained ALL the 30 lbs I had lost...just some of it back. I think I was down to 207 some months ago.

Please Good Fairy, Tinkerbell, or Santa Clause sprinkle me with fairy dust sooooo I can start shrinking. Gaye

I haven't even picked a diet to stick to yet!
I am eating more salads though.
My regular plan of exercise went out the window with my cold plus the freezing temps, snow and ice..

and -we're off our usual schedule around here because of the weather kids off work and scholl, hubby off work.

I know excuses, excuses....

next week should be more normal

Cool Curious & Gaye~

Curious, you have a nice place. You can have that snow tho. We have a very small amount but it is cold here. It was 17 degrees this morning as I was coming back from the farm. I don't know how cold it got. I guess your electric didn't go off, did it? The news was full of places that were still out.

Gaye, you wouldn't like that wet kind of snow if you ever drove on it. It is very slick even tho you can make a snowman. And yes, I do remember coming through Georgia about 11 years ago and the whole state was a mess in Feb. They even had snow in Florida and I had my bathing suit with me. The inter states even closed down and the hospitals too. We couldn't believe it. It wasn't that deep but the ice was something else. We seen wrecks everywhere. That was a bad memory!

ty billie. we have been lucky so far..still have electicity. another wave of the storm is supposed to hit. i'm corssing my fingers and saying prayer. prepared too.

off days are no biggy nancy. i have always called them wandering. wandering down a different path doesn't sound too bad. just get right back on the road kwim?

sorry i haven't replied sooner. you don't want to totally blow it. but have something you have been craving, just a smaller portion. i try not to have a whole day of wandering. one meal or a certain food seems to be enough to satisfy me. easier for me not to wander too far. might just get totally lost! like down to the bottom of a bag of chips or the bottom of a big bag of m&m's.

one thing that really helps, is to keep the mindset that your whole day isn't blown if you wander. for me, that first meal is important, but the hardest. if i don't eat it, i'm not going blow the whole day. just try harder the next day.

having a cooking buddy is wonderful!! what a way to stay motivated and on track. i wish i had that. hardest thing for me is so much meal cooking. keep up the good work. it's motivating to all of us. the pt will help with burning calories too.

Default The little joy of my life. . .

Well, since we have an absolutely great thing going here with pictures, all of them so fun to see, here is my little joy. (The BIG joy in my life is, of course, my hubby.) I hope this attachment works! If not, I'll try again.

nancy

Well, I needed to adjust the picture size, etc. but you can see my 10 lb. weiner dog, Tootsie. I'll go back to the instructions that were posted and try again. :-)
