Other than exercise I'm at a loss, too. I'm so limited as to what I can do physically. I tend to carry my weight in my midsection. It's the area I have the most complaints about. I've just resigned myself that I'll always be a little "thick" in that area. Maybe a slimming body girdle? In this heat??? I think not. But maybe it'd help me "melt" the fat off!!

congratulations on the drop in pant size...you are doing a great job at this!!!!! kitty, my trainer at the gym said that cardio exercise gets rid of belly fat. do you have access to a gym? they might have stationary bikes ....ours even has a machine that you only use your arms.

dinner was poached chicken, cajun spices (cayenne pepper sauce)
Steamed asparugus with lemon cucumber and tomatoe salad, fat free zesty italian dressing fresh blueberries off to the gym... I was so bad last night....geesh! bizi

well It is discouraging...
I looked over the last month of scales weights. I have yo yo'd all over up two pounds down 3 up two...etc. You get the picture so I looked back at the month prior....I think that I may have lost .5 pounds this month....not sure....that is alot of work for .5 pounds have been going faithfully to the gym....I have gone off my diet maybe 4 times in one month.... just need to keep going....or maybe I need to try a different diet. what do you think? bizi

I don't consider myself dieting anymore..I've stopped weighing because it was too "judgemental"... I have changed the way I cook, shop, and the old man who lives with me has no choice other than to do it "my way". He has lost 30 pounds and looks like he is wearing someone elses clothes.
We both had recent physical exams and our blood work, choles...etc numbers were excellent so he can quit worrying about all the meat and eggs we eat. And he has turned into quite the salad eater!! Herman must be turning over in his grave. I think it is a mind set kind of thing. This is now our life style. Will I ever have macncheese again...sure, some time. Will he have pizza...sure, probably as soon as the Pappa Johns right down the road, opens it's doors. Have you ever roasted broccoli? It is wonderful!!! Ask Mark! Kitty...what are those "things" that Oprah talks about all the time...they are black and tight....rofl...and in this heat??? no way..

congratulations to you both for your excellant physical exams!!!!!
I bet that made you feel good! Are Pam and Fred following this diet too? I remember visiting them one year and they had just changed their eating styles,,,maybe it was south beach diet that they were following. Do you recall? I wonder if they still follow it. the 1200 calories diet is just too restrictive. I feel deprived... So then I binge eat/drink. not good. There are two stages for me I am either gaining weight over time or I am on a diet. I wish I could learn moderation..... ok enough whining from me.... bizi

30 pounds for dad WOW!!! you guys need to go shopping!
I have never had roasted brocolli....roasting always sounds so good but takes a long time to do and I am an impatient cook. Do you use olive oil and salt pepper then coat the veggies then bake at what temp? We had seared tuna last night...it was so good do you like tuna steaks?these were cooked med rare. yellow fin. but red in color. I had spicy thai tuna today from bumble bee and it was very good! big salad for dinner and a cup of lentil soup. off to the gym.... bizi

yep, preheat oven to 450. drizzle olive oil over broccoli florets, and slices of red pepper. Sprinkle with hot red pepper flakes and bake 20 mins. Drizzle with a little more oil after 15 mins.
G loves that tuna...sent them home with sandwiches of it. I like to make a salad w/it..chopped red onion, chopped celery and mayo. We had Grotons talopia tonight w/roasted broccoli and a salad.
