Atkins lets you eat more. That soup smells like it would make a dynamite bloody mary!! Will taste it in the morning. the soup that is..not a
bloody mary. I wish they hadn't quit making those tiny cheese tidbits....I remember counting out 15 of them...only three grams. Now pork rinds have no grams but they aren't as good. And I am missing fruit... can only have cantalope and it's terrible this time of year.

I was actually able to go to applebees and have a steak dinner=
7 oz of sirloin steak with asiago cheese on top 2 boiled potatoes 1 cup of mixed veggies. all for only 390 calories!!!! or if carb counting=26 carbs!!!!!!!! It was very good and satisfying. alffe that soup would probably be good hot or cold. I hope it is good, I have never had it before. bizi

Congrats Kitty on your loss!! Alffe - canteloupe is one of my favorite foods. Like you said this time of the year it's not as good but I've been lucky and we've been finding ones that have tasted pretty good -- better than not having them.
I tried on my shorts since I needed to wear them today and they fit! Last summer they were all too tight. Now that the nice weather is here my DD is really getting me moving. We have been going on long bike rides, playing basketball and just getting outside and doing stuff. Then I've been doing yardwork, cleaning the garage and not spending time even being on the computer. I may have to stop calorie counting because I won't have the time with how busy I've been! And I love it. |

1 cup fresh strawberries has 13 carbs. I don't know anything about separating fiber carbs...I have this little yellowed with age carb book and
I follow it faithfully because it works for me. Karousel I have been very unlucky finding decent cantalope...I smell them, ck color, they are rock hard and tasteless! I've tried buying ready cut slices..it helps to salt them...LOL Indiana has WONDERFUL cantalope in the summer...can't wait! 1/2 melon only has 8.3 grams of fat. Biz I love cold soup on a hot day...your Dad will want it heated...it is on the menu for lunch. Kitty....are you making soup? *grin

yes you are doing very good alffe.
and yes it is stricter than the current thinking. that since fiber is un digestable you can subtract those carbs that are fiber from your total carb count. All of the current books say this. You are doing very well on this diet!!!!! I am so glad that It is working for you.....do you take a multivitamin? bizi

Went for a family bike ride - boy am I starting to feel this biking!! When I go out to meet my girlfriends for our book club I'll get a Skinny latte at Starbucks. I love these skinny's - they are tasty with way less calories and fat!
I have nothing but admiration for anyone who can follow a strict diet and stick with it! |

Alffe, I'm so envious of you!! Good job!! Doesn't it just feel so good to get back into clothes that used to be too small?
Well, I've taken a Provigil this morning so I'll have some energy to clean this house and it always zaps my appetite. I ate an Activia and a piece of whole grain roast before I took it. I've got to stop weighing every morning. I should just pick a day and weight once a week at the same time. But, I did weigh this morning and I'm down another pound. I think I'll start weighing each Saturday morning and keep track that way. My weight fluctuates too much during the week. Good luck to everyone trying to diet this weekend!! I'm cooking supper tomorrow night for my two boys and my oldest's GF. Both boys requested meatloaf, fried okra, mac n' cheese, mashed potatoes and Key Lime Pie. I think I better take a Provigil tomorrow, too!

You are smart not to weigh everyday Kitty. I was stuck for almost a month at the same loss.....20 lbs. Finally yesterday I dropped another one but it's discouraging so like you...I'm going to pick next Sat. before I weigh again.
Karousel I admire you for riding the bike! I just can't seem to get on the treadmill....no excuse, I just don't! Maybe today I'll find an old movie and climb on it. Bizi, that soup is to die for!! Well, that's a little strong but we loved it. As predicted, I had it cold and Mr.Alffe had it hot. He kept saying, "what's in this?" so I handed him the recipe. No vitamins...but I take Vit.D, 1200 every day and drink V8 juice daily.
