Default It's coming off slow now. . .

. . .but I'm still on the Weight Watchers program and can't see going back to eating like I did before. Now when I get cravings, it's for the good stuff like yogurt, popcorn, or an apple. So usually I can feed the craving and not worry. The week I went home to Minnesota I was really bad. Cakes, cookies and fried walleyed pike. But I managed to keep the weight down - don't know how but I'll take it!

Total lost since Jan. 15th is 23 lbs. I am half way to my goal which I'd really like to hit by Christmas. I need to speed the loss back up as I'm down to loosing only 2 lbs. a month. Any suggestions?????

Love,
Nancy

Nancy, hon', you're doing awesome!! Just work the program. Try not to get wrapped up in timed goals, too, as they are self-defeating. In fact, if you don't focus on the day/time period by which you want to lose it, it'll probably come off faster, because you won't be pressuring yourself. 'Sides, if you're really doing this for life, does it matter when you lose it??

Well...we'll see if I actually am past it... but I did have more fiber and lean protein and tried to limit salt.

Cool

It is official.
At my last Dr's appointment...I had lost 10 pounds since the first of the year. She asked me what my goal was I told her I wanted to lose 10 pounds more and she told me to eat 1200 calories a day. That doesn't sound like very much...is that right?
Do you all eat only 1200 calories aday?

It depends entirely on you and what your lifestyle is like. That's why I love WW. They tailor the prog to your needs--your activity, your height, weight, body frame (which is why there's about a 15-25 lb weight range for goal), etc.

1200 cals would kill me, but I have about 60 lbs to go. I get 26 "points" a day and tack on 5 of my 35 weekly to each day, = 31, which is 1860 cals, roughly, and I often have slightly more than that. (Points go down as you lose, or up if there is an increase in activity.)

Are you eating 1200 a day and burning, say, 400-600 by exercising? If so, you need more to eat! Talk with the doc about how to figure in your activity to determine what you're burning and thus, how to increase your needed cals while still losing.

The "All you need is 1200 cals no matter who you are" mentality is antiquated and just plain wrong. You need a plan that fits your individual lifestyle and caloric needs. This ain't it!

Red face

thanks Lizzy!
Right now I am not doing any excersise...and i think that is why she suggested this...but she also said if you had been excersising I would have lost even more...so far I am happy with the way I am doing but would really like to be going to the gym again for fitness reasons.
Some how I am jsut going to have to start going again....
