Default Roll Call Friday Sept. 22

Good Morning Friends,
Lets rise and shine this rainy morning. We can have sunshine in our hearts & veggies in the stomach. Please keep me in check for I have a tendancy to want ice cream when no one is looking. I am careful to get no suger kind and I pay dearly for it. I also need all the help I can get when I see chips. If it wasn't for those weak areas in my life, I could lose faster. I have a tendency just skip a meal, when I do that. It does keep me at the spot I want to be in.

Some say journal your food, but that takes all the fun out of it. I think we know what we can eat and get away with and what we can't. I am rarly surprised. I am a diebetic and can't get away with much. Someone is alway's looking over my shoulder or doing a
A1c test.
Do we need a cerntain page for for goodies. I found one.

Banana Split Smoothie

1 1/4 C. sliced ripe banana (2 med.)
1-8 oz. can crushed pineapple in juice
1 C. crushed ice
1 t.sugar
1/2 C. orange juice
1-9 oz. carton vanilla lowfat yogurt

Combine first 5 ingredients in blinder. Process till smooth. Add yogurt & blend.
Severe immediately.
4-1 Cup servings-3 points each.
It's good. BC

i'm here!!!

i'm having a high pain day. no walking or gazzelle for me. isometric and drinking tea and LOTS of water.

yummy...now im going to have to go make a smoothy for me and grandmonkey!!

have you tried pretzels instead of ships? they are baked. you can also get no salt kinds. i live those.

or making your own chex mix typs of crunchy snacks. you can watch how much of things you put in that way. put in the lowest sugar of cereals. the already made kind...way high on fat and sodium. then..now for the watch your portion size...i HAVE to do this. i'm a snacky eater. i measure out the portions and put them in little snack bags. and yes..only eat 1 bag.

happy healthy day. tighten those glutes, suck in those abs while you read the posts. lol. it's called multi tasking.

Good morning everyone, well the wind is a blowing here but the sun is also shining so I am going to get out and go for a walk today.

Curious, i have also been putting snacks in a baggie so that I don't sit and eat a whole bag of pretzels. It helps to keep it under control that way. Sometimes I am just lazy about eating and I will grab the easiest thing and then I either eat too much or eat the wrong things. Especially when my back is on fire and I don't feel like cooking or taking the time to fix a salad.

Billie, thanks for the recipe for the smoothie. I bought some frozen fruit from the schwans guy yesterday so I will try that recipe out. I also have that ice cream craving, I have sherbert when that hits though.

Well wake up everybody and have a great Friday...Sue

Morning guys!
Billie~
Loved your smoothie recipe! I wonder if you shouldn't start a thread for recipes? They'd all be tgether that way. What does everyone else think?

Curious~
Sorry about the high pain day honey! (((hugs))) Have some sugar-free choccy and pass it around please! It's a sittin' day for me again too..

It's another rainy icky day here, so I'm sure that's why the pain's up there. Then the depression kicks in. You all know how that goes too.

I'm a snacker too Billie. Did you guys get a chance to check out the link Mrs. D. posted in the need to eat healthy thread? I only had a chance to skim it, but what I saw I loved. I bookmarked it so I can go back. Talk a look guys!

Have a good day!
Hugs,
LS
PS--missed ya SueBabe! Morning Sunshine!!!!

Arrow A Weight Watcher's recipe

I'm just checking back in. Had a sleepy, yet workable day. Mark and I are going to go house hunting tonight. I already know what I want, but I guess it won't hurt looking. I have almost adopted him, well not quite. I don't want you to think I have a boyfriend already.

Gal's that recipe was a Weight Watcher's one, I take no credit for it. It is good. I don't know if I have enough to start a thread or not. I'll check by morning. k' I do have one more I really like. Check back tomorrow!

You all have a great evening now~

Hey there Billie~
You only need one recipe to start a thread...everyone will add to it. I wish I had a recipe to add. Sheesh.....I'm no help there at all guys. I'm kinda waiting to get some recipes though. (Especially that brownie with the applesauce one.) Where do you guys get them all? I suppose doing searches, but then how do you know if they're any good?

*looking around sheepishly* I think I'm talking to myself again........rah roe raggy... (that was my Scooby Doo imitation--hold the applause) I think I need to get out more........

I'm done now.
Hugs,
LS

Default Hi everyone!

Just got back from taking Mr. B to Tampa to the VA today for his check up. What a looooonnnggg day it was! But he needed to go so driving over to Winter Haven to get him loaded (he is bedridden) thats 95 miles then to Tampa is another 50 and back to his house (50 again) and then back to Sarasota (another 95) I feel like I have been to Minnesota..... ! My ankles are swollen and I am pooped! Jamie goes when we go so he does the lifting Thank God!

Sorry to hear that some are down or not feeling well. Yes that gloomy rainy weather does have that affect Jan. It seems thats all we get lately.

Billie that smoothie sounds great! I agree about the recipe thread and Jan is right. It will be fun to see what non fattening recipes that we can try and actually enjoy!

I found this one in Woman's Day.

Spread 4 cups cubed ripe cantaloupe in a single layer on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Freeze 45 minutes or until 3/4's frozen. (not rock hard) Put 1/2 cup OJ, 1/4 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt and 2 Tbsp. honey or sugar in a blender. Top with the cantaloupe and whirl until smooth and slushy. Serve in chilled glasses. Makes 4 cups.

I am definetely going to have to try the one you suggested. Sounds yummy!

One of the old and I mean OLD weight Watchers plans I was on, had a veggie soup that could be blended for a nice hot mug of a legal (not full of calories) very lo-cal drink. Wish I could find it again. No such luck.....maybe one of our WW friends has it...hope so. GC

HI
thought I would join in...
I was really pretty good with my dieting this week until tonight. 2 margaritas and 3 peices of pizza....
sigh
need to just accept the fact that I will fall off my diet and this is not a major set back.
right?
I have been trying to eat more healthy and recently joined a gym here.
Since I have been going...I seem to have an insatiable appitite.
I should start a thread about this.
