Having read extensively on this it is quite apparent that both the salt and cholesterol perils are not based on any proper research testing.
You'd be surprised to learn how a lot of our dietary no-no's came about. Think ego, pride and $$$$$$.. You must have some fats in your diet-they are essential. Just the right ones. Try coconut milk and cream, olive oil, ghee and butter. Animal fats are good. Avoid all highly processed oils like canola and margarine. Having a little bit of fat and protein with each meal will also help you feel satisfied, so you won't get hungry in 5 minutes. It will also help digest the carbs better. If you have to avoid one thing long term, it's sugar. Goes straight to fat, makes you hungry, and is addictive.
