Default Weight loss after TBI

I fractured my skull and had a brain bleed and have been having cognitive issues I am in therapy for. The incident was in Nov. and I find a tremondous loss of appetite. I now have alot of soup, I take a multivitamin and omega 3 but I have dropped about 30 lbs. since the accident. From 238 lbs. to 205 lbs.
I feel ok and was wondering if this is common or perhaps brought on by depression. In the cognitive evaluation I was told there was alot of underlying depression as executive function. I won't see aneuropsychologist till the end of the month at the soonest.

hang in there joeyy,

you have been thru a lot. give your mind and your body some time to heal and adjust. if you have the need to lose some wt i wouldn't worry about it.

you might want to consider seeking some short term counseling to get you past any depression. and it might be helpful to have a consult with a registered dietician to manage your lack of appetite. there are ways to handle diet to boost your protein and calorie load but i don't know enuf about it to tell you.

let us know how you're doing.
