down to 153, have not seen that in a long time. so am happy about that. made it thru day 2 of AF last night. Am taking a different way home so as to not drive by whole foods to stop for an adult beverage!
Has worked 2 days now!:)

For dinner last night We had chicken with indian sauce and steamed asparagus,
half an avocado and a cup of mangos and pineapple(NON-ORGANIC!)
It was healthy and tasty. I love the simmering sauces so easy for a couple of bucks. $5.25 for each meal. Not bad.

Today, I am recovering from over eating last night at whole foods playing trivia. While it was fun and we even won 2nd place I was miserable when i came home. We had eaten a big dinner before leaving. And I ended up ordering chicken wings even though I was still full from dinner.
sigh
Today I have a new client this morning. She goes to dialysis three days a week so saturday was appropriate for her.
Jeff is playing a gig this morning, we will both be done around 11;30 and go to chris's for our usual chicken/sausage gumbo. I get it with out rice or bread to save on calories and have a side of slaw.
It is my hair appointment day at one. Can't decide if I will get my hair high lighted too. It takes more time. They may not be able to do that too.
We will have talapia for dinner tonight then it is Jeffs big band "the skyliners"
dance tonight. We will have a full table as some of my friends are going to be there. I am bringing a client of mine,(a young 87 year old) picking her up at 6;30.
I have not figured out what I am going to wear just yet, not sure if anything will fit. I think I will wear a dress. It is so depressing trying on clothes when I have gained 6 inches in my belly.

I bought a new bathroom scale....
the cats have lost weight...I have not. lol
bizi

bizi 10-05-2016 09:32 AM

154.6 this morning. Hattie weighed 17 pounds even so she has lost at least a pound, which is good. Vet said she should be a 12 pound cat.
So we are both on a diet. Hazel has lost wieght too and she doesn't have any fat on her so we are concerned about that. she hardly seems to eat. We think that hattie is stealing her food. Jeff is giving her fancy feasts wet cat food as treats a few times a week, she doesn't eat much.

hi biz,

i saw my endocrinologist today. all my labs were outstanding...except my A1C.
last time it was 8, now 8.2. although my sugars have improved greatly. wt same.

he generally was happy. wants me (& so do i) to try and keep sugars as they've been the last month. he thinks i could then get my A1C down to 7.5. that would truly be wonderful.

even my lipid panel was all WNL. cholesterol down, triglycerides down.
yay me...keep trying.

bizi 10-11-2016 09:01 PM

I would not be happy with that number sorry.
glad that your other numbers are good!
bizi

NurseNancy 10-12-2016 02:14 PM

i'm not really happy either, however, it was at 10 so this is a big improvement.
hopefully in the next 4 mos it will be in the 7's.

bizi 10-12-2016 10:38 PM

have we already talked about using insulin?
lantus once a day and 70/30 twice a day?
or some other insulin program...I am not up to date witht he newer insulins out there.
bizi

NurseNancy 10-14-2016 12:17 PM

yes. i'm on a sliding scale of humalog 3 x's/day.
and, i do take lantus at nite.

i see the dietician next wk.
i will need prayers to change all this.

i've been heavy most of my life since childhood.
was emotionally abused and used food to feel better.
so i was abused at home and shunned at school. no safe place to go.

and so i've been heavy most of my life. i've lost a few times and stayed down but never kept it off. i'm so much stronger now. in a great place mentally alas for the wt issue. i'll keep you posted.

bizi 10-14-2016 10:11 PM

would you be a candidate for bariatric (sp?) surgery?
I am sorry this is so hard.
I am very sorry that you were abused....
(((((HUGS))))))
bizi

NurseNancy 10-15-2016 10:35 AM

i am a candidate, and for several different types.
but i chickened out. i feel it's so drastic. you can eat yourself out of it. until i change my mindset it won't work.

i have been able to change my mindset several times but it doesn't last.
i don't have much faith in myself when it comes to eating. otherwise i'm mentally healthy.

Went to a choral concert last night at the auditorium. I thought it started at 730, it started at 7...
sigh
4th dose of lithium this morning....
no alcohol cravings last night...
first night alcohol free in a while.:)
Last night I stopped off at mcdonalds had a sausage egg mcmuffin for dinner. 450 calories for $1.29, no wonder people eat fast food. IT is cheap!
Actually I just realized they forgot to put the egg on it!
so fewer calories!
Maybe it is a placebo effect but I already feel more in control.
Jeff just got home, he went fishing with a friend.
Glad he is home.

I snacked later on a bunch of dried apple slices. then some smoked almonds.
We are going to a memorial service today where there will be drinks and food.
Will watch myself because we are traveling to baton rouge to eat dinner, my favorite dish: New orleans style bbq shrimp. Yum!
think shrimp in a butter pepper sauce that you soak up with a roll.
Not diet food!
then we go to this halloween attraction called the 13th gate. Best attraction in the country!
That is always fun!

Hubby has a gig this morning so will eat breakfast sooner than normal, short gig half an hour, playing banjo first line stuff for a couple who is getting engaged. It is a surprise to her! Maybe I can sneak into the back ground and watch. It will be open on campus so why not?
We have to pick out our pumpkins today! running out of time.
Hubby is not so sure he will get up all of his decorations, ground is hard...it will be very difficult to get the tomb stones in the ground.
so busy day planned.

156.8 this am, I can do this!

NurseNancy 10-23-2016 04:18 PM

you are a busy lady & it all sounds so happy.

you CAN do it biz.believe in yourself & be gentle with yourself.

bizi 10-25-2016 08:51 AM

thanks nancy!
Last nite was the same, waking up at 3am, then 4 then 5 finally getting up at 730, feeling groggy.
In addition to my regular psych meds, I Took some natural supplements, amino acids to see if I could sleep better last night.
Really did not help.
Slept poorly.
Maybe I can not take them on an as needed basis, rather they need to be built up and it might take a while to work?
Ordered some books about them so am anxious to read up on them.
One book is called the mood cure and the other is called the diet cure by Julia Ross.

this is just a nursey thing....please be sure that any supplements you take you run by your dr. some things react with meds & you might not even know it. :)

I just ordered some oatmeal packs from medifast for $22. They are 100 calories each, I heard they are really good.
I wonder how many calories in the little instant packs from quaker oats have in them. Maybe I should go look. Maybe not a big difference and a lot cheaper! Will report back.
I like oatmeal and this could be a good option for a 10pm snacking attack.
bizi
I do have some organic apples waiting to be eaten and some oranges too.

Unfortunately, I tried on many pairs of pants...I have a dozen pants that don't fit and have moved them to the back closet.
leaving 3 pairs of pants that fit/ are snug with out room for long underwear.
heavy sigh....pulling out the parka and boots today.

I just found out some fraudulent charges on my charge card. Around $400 worth.
Luckily I caught them with the help of rodney at capital one.
A new card is on the way. It will be here next week.

Some how I was sent a wool dress that I did not order and that is why I called them. IT came from china. I did not order it! So I stuffed it back into my mail box and wrote refused, I did not order this!
Will see if the mail person takes it away tomorrow.

Lunch:
8oz of chicken fahitas
collards
bowl of veggie soup
(lots of cauliflower, squash, tomatoes a little spicy chard yum!).

dinner:
pork chop
turnip greens
half an avocado
dark chocolate truffle

2 cups of coffee with 4 T. of half and half=2 carbs and 80 calories.
Brunch at the diner:
3 eggs scrambled with a cup of spinach covered with 2/3 cup of black bean s and 1 cup of steamed broccoli. 26 net carbs and 515 calories.

Think I will start keeping an eye on both net carbs and calories.
Weight loss stalled.
Need to cut back on adult beverages.

Going out to eat with a friend after kayaking. They serve huge portions here and I am a clean your plate kind of gal.
