Had a great breakfast of scrambled eggs with spinach topped with zippy black bean salsa, yum and a side of brocolli. delicious!
came home and read the paper(only 2 hours this time, I did not read it cover to cover). Did one big load of laundry and put that away.
For dinner I sauteed lemon pepper talapia in grape seed oil. and steamed some frozen mixed veggies, squash, carrots, califlower and onions and red peppers. very tasty!
Finished the billing and some filing but did not touch the charting. Charting can wait, billing can't!
Hubby is picking up a red box movie rental, some scarey movie.
I was going to pick up some ice cream that I saw earlier at the store. chocolate mint, my favorite.
on sale a pint for $1
I resisted but just now toyed with going back and seeing if they had any left.
I refrained from doing that now that I remember it has 640 calories for the pint which I would eat the entire thing knowing me!
so I will have a piece of fruit...
I was thinking about drinking alcohol tonight...
(I even have some in the house which is dangerous!)
but decided that I did not want to give up on my self.
I "said that this would be a dry june"
gosh darnit!

My leg is getting better every day I can feel it less of an issue.
I was a drenched rat yesterday when I got caught in the rain so had a rain coat today. I put 92 miles on my car today and managed to stay out of the rain for the most part. Drove thru a down pour!

Had a great lunch at the greek place. Ate off the buffet but did not over do it and only had one plateful. But at $12 I don't think I ate my moneys worth. Had cardamon tea with honey and milk. did not taste any different but is supposed to be very healthy. grilled chicken pieces, tabouli, grapeleaves, hummus and 2fried eggplant halves. It was good.
There ended up just being 4 of us.

After lunch I went to see emily my 56 year old client who lives in an assisted living home, She had fallen and broke her shoulder a month ago. felt sorry for her. I have seen her for years and she has some sort of autism, mental deficiency but we connect and our visits are great.

I had a new client this afternoon,"miss priss" in her 70's I think.
She was a smoker, lung disease...wears oxygen when she is in the house...not smoking. She has hired help. Getting over pneumonia, has a terrible cough. She kept me waiting inside while she finished her cigarette....also has diabetes and was eating fried pork fat and offered some to me. It is called cracklins. I gracefully declined.
She told me she used to live in brazil and would get pedicures for 25 cents. That some times she would get 3 pedicures in one day. I told her she was spoiled! I gave her a good pedicure but really just wanted to leave, hope she doesn't call me back....am I a bad person for that....?
I am used to geriatric patients.
anyway.
I saw an Alzheimer pt after her. Sweet bell she lets me do her pedicures but doesn't want me to put lotion on her...which is the best part of a pedicure!
She is very frail, walks with a walker and help and has 24 hour around the clock sitters. I see her every 2 months.
For the most part I love my job. Thankful for the work and my ability to do the work.
Jeff cooked baked teryaki ginger salmon for dinner tonight with green beans and half an avocado. couple of strawberries and 2 hersheys dark chocolate kisses. Delicious!

Went to the gym and and walked on the tred mill for an hour and tried to do a weight machine...I am not ready for that yet.Did a pigeon stretch and even that was hard, tight to do. Tried to do a lunge and that was really hard to do. yesterday I tried to do a squat and could not do that. I am so out of shape.

Jeff just came home from having a few beers with a friend. Going to watch another x-files episode and go to bed.

139.5 this am. took a month to get back to this weight after an 8 day drinking lapse. I swear I can only lose weight by being alcohol free.

I just got up from a 2 hour nap. I needed it! I only slept about 4 1/2 hours last night.
We went for breakfast this morning like usual.
Had 3 eggs scrambled, with spinach and a side of brocolli and a side of black bean salsa heated up and put over my eggs. It was extra spicy today and delicious!
Will have chicken today baked I think not sure how to cook it actually.
It is coated with a rub...and we will have edemame and strawberries and blueberries and half an avocado if they are ripe.
Sounds like a healthy dinner.
While we were at whole foods they have samples of this dark chocolate that is heavenly, we splurged on a couple of bars. And I bought some soup mix, Pho with rice noodles add chicken. Sounds tasty!
Now I simply must do some billing at least.

Hi bizi,

Congratulations for getting back to 139.5! It is worth fighting those lapses, even though I know it is difficult.

I enjoy reading about your meals and recipe plans, they make my mouth water but don't make me crave - I'm past that.

My Ex bought in 20 luxury chocolate bars, dark and milk, to put away for Christmas Stocking Fillers - 1200cals in an 8oz bar None for me

I did have a 4oz slice of chocolate gateau today to celebrate Father's Day, only 262cals and I still hit my target. Before my diet I would have eaten half the cake in a day over 2 sittings. The good thing is I do not crave anything else, not even more cake.

Dave.

I think you're both doing great! Congrats Bizi on your weight - that's about where I would be happy to be. Dave - you have the willpower that I lack right now. I have too many things happening and am succumbing to stress eating. I'm not gaining, but I'm stuck.

We've just booked a cruise to Alaska in Sept; it would be nice to drop 10 lbs before that.

Red face

thanks david, you are a strong man to not allow cravings to tempt you.
Happy fathers day!
carol, you definately have time to lose 10 pounds by september.
What are your eating habits? isit sweets? or salty?
do you snack in front of the tv. Do you drink calories?
is your day structured?
alsaka will be fun, I lived there in a nother world years ago when I was in the service. I lived in fairbanks, very cold in the winter and hot in the summer.

My problem is time and a husband who isn't interested in cooking. I'm self-employed with one part time employee and I work at home. I also watch my 15 mth old granddaughter a couple of days per week and the older grandkids one day/wk after school. So, each day is different. No set schedule.

Most of the time I eat properly, but it's the other day or two that screws me up. I've learned to like salty rather that sweet if I'm going to "cheat", as I used to have trouble with low blood sugar.

Mostly the calories I drink are from 1% milk, but I don't like tea or coffee so that is a small part of the problem. It's when I'm tired and time is short that I have the most trouble. I don't eat a lot at a time as I'm more of a grazer. I don't keep junk food in the house, but you can still be "bad" with healthy food if you put your mind to it.

TV isn't the cause of poor choices, but I don't go to bed until midnight, so I have a long time between dinner and bed.....often I snack healthy, sometimes not so much.

hi carol, firstly it sounds like you have alot of responsibility on your plate!
Stress is a diet breaker, due to cortisol levels being elevated.
I understand about the time between dinner and bed time. We stay up late as well.
now I only have a piece of fruit, mostly I chew gum after dinner to keep my mouth busy.
before dinner I will have a piece of cheese and a handful of almonds. that will tied me over until dinner.
I take calcium capsules instead of drinking milk, you could shave those calories off of your day by skipping the milk.
Just some suggestions...
thank you for writing to me.

Thanks Bizi. If I can be more organized as far as groceries go, and work on my will power...I should be able to drop some weight before the cruise. I have you and now Dave to inspire me.

Or get after me.
