Still AF and feel strong in my resolve about this 100 day challenge.
Doing good with my current medications changes:
I took 100mg of trazadone and .25mg of klonipin last night and slept well.
Tomorrow is jeffs birthday. He turns 53.
He is playing a gig this morning then one tonight. We will go out to lunch at noon, am hoping that I get a shower before then.
I am going to a concert tonight at the school of music. The symphony is playing. My friend susan's husband paul had an extra complimentary ticket.
It starts at 6;30. Since I am not working today. I feel somewhat lazy. It is a nice day today. Should get in the yard, maybe I will do that after lunch and take a shower later???
The yard has been neglected....like other things around the house. I have some billing to do and have managed to keep up in my charting so that is good. I can't remember if I told you that I had my hair bleached and colored and highlighted 2 weeks ago? It took 6 hours!
2 days this week I curled it.
The guys at lunch complimented me about it. So it turned out good, In 2 more weeks I will have them simply high light it from now on and let my grays come in. My eye brows are already coming in half gray so we will see how they turn out. I really don't want to have to use a pencil to darken them but will if they are too gray.
Getting ready to have my 3rd cup of coffee....
I hope every one has a good weekend.

139 this am. Losing weight seems easy for me this time.
I need to get back to going to the gym and jogging if I am going to do the 10k next month.
Need to get off my butt!

On day 52 alcohol free this morning.

Meeting some friends for lunch today...going to a place I have never been to called Grub. I always enjoy their company....my lunch bunch from sandras the health food cafe that we met at a few years ago.

I stretched this morning and pulled a muscle for crying out loud!!!!!!
Geesh my body is falling apart.
arthritis in my neck and back and hips I believe....
oh well I guess I will just age gracefully.
Does complaining mean gracefully????

I got up early to make homemade chilli to put in the crock pot for dinner tonight.
Unusual for me....
We are having company, my new friend from NAMI and her hubby are coming over at 6pm.
I really like her and this is the first person who is bipolar that I have become friends with in real life that is...
She is a nurse also. Her hubby is disabled due to severe peripheral neuropathy in his feet....they are on fire most of the time..poor guy.
I made a small fruit salad last night: chopped up a pear, an apple, mixed in key lime yogurt, and a few raspberries on top.
I will serve the chilli with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream and an avocado. I bought half a cherry pie and cut that into 4 pieces already. I like to have the majority of the food prep done early if I can because I never know for sure how long my day will last at work.

My new pants came in and I washed them last night and they came out wrinkled....grrr!
I will have to iron them this weekend.

My cousin is coming next week to visit.
Raju is a flight attendant and loves the free travel!
He is due in friday afternoon and we are going to go to the "fright trail" halloween attraction. We have never been to this one, it sounds scary!
He will spend the night and Saturday. Hopefully (if the weather permits), we will go kayaking at lake Martin swamp.
It is beautiful there and only 30 minutes from our home.

My best friend's hubby got laid off from his job in the oil field...I feel really badly for them. Now they are both looking for work...he is delusional thinking that he will become a Realtor in this bad market. She has been a stay at home mom for the past 10 years(except for a one year teaching job at the private school her 9 year old daughter attends. She interviewed for 2 different medical coding jobs yesterday even though she does not have any experience. I told her the ICD codes have all changed this year so maybe that doesn't matter. We will see.

I had lunch at my house with my friend Susan yesterday, we ate left over beef lentil stew.
It was good.
She did not talk about looking for work at all.
She only talked about her college age daughter needing a very expensive jaw surgery that is not covered by insurance...ouch!
Her hubby is a college professor teaching trumpet and best friends with my hubby.
She should be very concerned about her being out of work....they are struggling, Paul says she needs to start working now!
That is 4 of my friends looking for work.

I am very thankful for my job!

My hair is high lighted now and looks strawberry blondish. I have been curling it and it looks better now.
It was black just 5 weeks ago.
I have been shocking my elderly clients.
They all like it.
Hubby likes it too.

I saw in the news today about supplements have caused multiple deaths. Jeff said to me this morning that he may stop taking them...
I will keep taking mine. I feel that I need them.

Well I had better get going
Have a good day!

We went to "Downtown Live" last night.
There was a blues guitarist( JImmy Vahn..think that is how you spell it. Stevie ray vahns son) playing at the free outdoor event that drew thousands of people because there was also a preview of the Antique and hot rod cars showing. And the clydsdales budwieser horses have been in town all week. We were lucky to see them loading back up into their trailers up close and personal.
Beautiful horses!!!!!
The cars were awesome!!!
The main car show is today at the blackum collisium.
I might go by myself if jeff doesn't want to come along.

He watered the ground last night and this morning so that he will be able to put the tombstones up in the yard. It has been so dry the dirt was like concrete. It is working so he is able to use a screw driver to pound the holes into the dirt. He has 20 and more tombstones, I have lost tract for the cemetery in front of the house. I bought 5 more this year to add tothe collection.
It is his favorite time of the year.
He only decorates for halloween, not christmas.

My friend susan is coming to dinner tonight as her hubby is out of town playing a trumpet gig. I invited her last night.
We are having lemon pepper sauteed Talapia and quinoa soup and steamed mixed veggies.
She has a 5 1/2 hour rehearsal for the Symphony being performed tomorrow at a beautiful Cathedral. She is trying to get us complimentary tickets to the show at 3 pm.
I asked her if she was going to the NAMI support group meeting sunday at 6...I think she will go too.
Her job search is not going well.

My best friend who is also looking for work had a job interview for a medical coding position. It only pays $11 an hour which would be the lowest paying job she has ever had but is desperate to start working. That is about $1200 a month after taxes and would not even cover the mortgage.
Her husband is finally showing some concern about the whole situation.

Personally, I continue to feel ADD. It is difficult to pay attention while driving. I almost got into a car accident the other day. Geesh, it would have been my fault too. Jeff had been drinking so I drove lastnight and backed into the curb while parallel parking. Thankfully, no harm was done to the tires.

Ironed and wore my new scrubs yesterday. They felt so comfortable...like pajamas. They wore well and hardly wrinkled thru out the day which is good...more professional looking even though there is not an ironed center crease.
I am happy with them!

After a lunch of chicken and sausage gumbo, I might actually go to the gym and walk on the tred mill for 2 hours to see if I can walk for 6.2 miles
( a 10 K), in preparation for the cajun cup that is happening next month. I have not signed up for it yet. After NOT jogging like I planned due to a thigh injury back on Memorial day, I am so discouraged to even try to think about doing it again this year. I walked/jogged it last year with a girl friend of mine.
I don't know if she has been training for it or not.
I have one month to train for it.

So my plan for the day:
lunch, iron scrubs, Car show, Tred mill, dinner at 6.
Sounds like a great day to me!
Thank you for reading and have a great weekend.

Bizi,

That does sound like a great day after an intense week. I hope you achieve all of your goals.

You make all of your meals sound delicious, I am rather jealous. Although I bought a pack of quinoa, beans and vegetables to try for the first time. Quinoa is still a novelty item here, that is why I have bought a pre-made mix.

Dave.
