Red face Eating after wisdom tooth extraction...

...sucks! It's just one tooth, thank God, but oy...the pain, the pain, the pain...and the blood, the blood, the blood! Gross...the bleeding seems to have (mostly) stopped, but the nasty taste is still there. I almost made my 26 WW points yesterday (24), so this week may be okay. We shall see...trying to get off the hydrocodone today and switch to Advil. I have to drive to my son's school tomorrow and go over a developmental assessment. Anyone know how long this stuff takes to leave the system?

TIA!

LIZARD, much better today

2 of my kids have been through this. one had all 4..the other 2. whatever you do...keep it packed!!! watch for dry socket.

don't drink from straws. don't talk too much. (sistermoney got dry socket. she was a college senior..had no choice to talk. had a big project due)

soft over cooked veggies. baked sweet potato. mash up what you can. it sucks, but both my kids were back to eating regular foods in less than 2 weeks.

Liz....keep it as clean as possible. I ended up with dry socket in two of the 4 holes....very painful. As for the vicodn...don't rush just take it as it comes.

Thanks so much, everybody!

Unfortunately, I still feel a bit crappy. I'm trying desperately to stay off the hard stuff 'til bedtime, especially since I have had to drive everywhere this week, taking Advil instead. As long as I'm not eating or brushing, I'm generally okay, just wiped out.

What I can't seem to gauge is how long I have to take pain med, because I still have some level of pain (mostly tolerable, except for the times I mentioned). A week? Two? I go back Tues for follow up. (I gained a tiny bit this week 'cause I had to eat what was tolerable, but no big. )
