I guess the sleeve is pretty common now.
Which surgery are you leaning toward?

I use to follow that blog too Bizi.
He would do the diet for a year or two, gain the weight back, and start a new blog on a different host every so often.
It was hard for him because he worked in New York City in doing
sales for the restaurant industry.

----
I know someone who had the sleeve done.
This person had to go on a liquid very low calorie diet for two weeks before the surgery.
In twelve month's time she did lose some weight but not much and gained all of it back.

i found a good website online & have been doing more reading.

i would do the gastric bypass. it is a drastic surgery. and afterwards for the rest of my life i'd have to eat & drink in a drastic way. it's kind of frightening to me.

i haven't made up my mind but the thought of the post op prospects have made me throw out all sweets from my pantry. you can't eat what you don't have.

for me, not eating after dinner is a big deal but i've been hanging tough for about a wk. i've lost 4 lbs. nothing "inspiring" yet but a start.

That's right, if it's NOT in the house, we won't eat it. Yesterday at bridge one of our members who is probably 70 lbs overweight, was about to get up and go for a sweet on the counter, and her friend who is "helping" her said, that's another ounce. So Susan sat back down. If it's not around us, we won't put it in our mouth.

For a while I was "addicted" to buying the incredible bulk cookies at whole foods, just buying like 4 at a time, well I haven't done that for over a month...proud of myself.

It's true every little bit can help us. Since body is so messed up with arthritis and the hip surgery mess, I move so little...it's terrible from a life of constantly on the go to almost a screaching halt. I've mentioned it before here, I've stopped bringing bread in my house for about 7 yrs now. Use romaine lettuce if I want a sandwich wrap for my meats. Now even when I'm out I pass on bread or rolls. Movement is necessary but when one can't, we gotta go to other avenues. We are in charge...

yesterday i went to the grocery store. for the 1st time in a long time i walked out with no donuts, or cookies etc., even if it was a bogo.

my kind neighbor said something to me that stuck. "if you don't have it you can't eat it". so this is my new mantra.

Yes, Yes, Yes...we need that push or some words from someone to "hit us"...I sent you a PM.

Years ago when I attended a Weston Price support group, Nancy Appleton lectured on her kick the sugar habit book(s) and she said cancer cells love sugar environment and that stuck with me and does to this day. I changed my life so much after hearing those words.
