Default Stopped with the Pizza and Feel Weight Loss

Ok, since I am out of rehab for knee issue 4.5 months, I felt like I needed to "treat" myself to pizza...so I was buying frozen pizza, thin crust, pretty healthy for the most part, but the tummy was blowing up... The "treating" started in mid 2017 or so when I got home. Finally decided not to bring them in my house for a while now, over 2 weeks, and not ordering lasanga now and then...they all make us blow up. Me anyway.

And the less WHITE foods the more the weight will come off.

Finally noticed it today when I put on a pair of slacks that were a lot looser. This will also bring down the glucose level that was higher with my last labs.

I can do it and so can anyone who needs/wants to take off weight/fat.

@Caroline2, good for you....pizza is the poster child for unhealthy eating.

I gained 10+ lb.s from mid November to around March, am struggling to take that off. I do know how to lose weight, dropped 55 lb.s in 2019. However, my recent effort is not working, need to 'double-down' and tighten up my carb intake, reduce portion sizes .

Gotta take control and JUST DO IT...if you want it bad enough it's very doable..And so much of our health is connected with what we put in our mouths. Just thinking when I was in the rehabs for 4.5 months and didn't have access to the Junk stuff, I had "LOST' 26 lbs.....how proud I was but I know what did it. Then when I got home I decided to reward myself with foods I didn't get for months, yeah, rewards, more weight and higher glucose.

I see some members struggling here and maybe they will read this, I don't know. A friend needs to take off maybe 70 lbs, but she can't or won't stop with the wine. She drinks it for the joint pain, but.....

Default Black Cumin

Pizza is my go to "cheat meal" at the weekend. I buy a vegetarian pizza from the deli part of my local supermarket. I thinly slice a ton of garlic and add jalapenos and half a teaspoon of ground nigella seed or black cumin. Delicious.

If you want to lose weight or reduce your body fat with zero effort then I suggest you add black cumin or nigella seed to your diet. Be careful as there is another seed that also calls itself black cumin, it must be nigella seed (sativa) or also known as Kalonji. Just half a teaspoon a day will do. I grind mine in a nutri bullet to ease absorption and digestion. It has a pretty neutral taste.

Not only does it help in weight loss, systematic reviews have found that daily black cumin consumption significantly improves cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, and blood sugar control.

Effect of Nigella sativa supplementation on obesity indices: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials - ScienceDirect

Nigella sativa and Trigonella foenum-graecum Supplemented Chapatis Safely Improve HbA1c, Body Weight, Waist Circumference, Blood Lipids, and Fatty Liver in Overweight and Diabetic Subjects: A Twelve-Week Safety and Efficacy Study

So embrace pizza Caroline and still wear your slacks loose ( you're such a flirt!)

I understand drinks for the joint pain, I have a 5 o'clock vodka+club soda & lime for my osteoarthritis. Yea, the alcohol makes weight loss more difficult, but I'll deal with that, and continue avoiding NSAIDs and the heightened risk of heart attack and stroke that NSAIDs brings.

Vodka has 64 calories per oz, whereas wine has twice that amount.

I've worked out a low dose OTC pain med routine and have a every 6 hr schedule. Works for me.

I'm done with alcohol.
