Default Monday Roll Call!

Taking the lead from yesterday's RC. As a rule we are officially going to start talking about our weight again! We can talk about other stuff too but this is the Weight Loss Support Board right?
Well, I still haven't stepped on a scale since I started working again. I think I am afraid to. I know I haven't gained any....knowing me I am about the same.
I have the middle drawer of my desk filled with those 100 calorie snack packs. Thank goodness Nabisco decided to make them. I still don't know what a serving is supposed to be. Yes, I know I should by now.
Beyond that I am tired and working.....
Have a great day all!

Default No more "normal"

Hi Wendy and Bizi:

Wendy - You ARE doing so awesome - you are a different person now. Just don't do what I did when I was a workin' gal and that was join the, "out to lunch" group. I think I probably ate my weight in french fries over my 27 yr. career! If I would have packed a healthy lunch I'd probably be a nice, healthy size 9.

Bizi - Nice to hear from you. Sorry about those pesky six pounds. I haen't weighed since I got back from the wedding. I'm a big chicken. I will weigh in next Sunday and start weighing once a week from there.

Love to all,
Nancy

Maybe we can start getting back on track by posting some tasty healthy, low fat or vegetarian menus or recipes.
Even if you haven't tried it but it looks interesting post it - and maybe someone else will try it.

Or post new exercises or a work out plan- things like that??

Ok this is about exercises for the elderly - but since most of us have some sort of limitations I thought it would be a good place to start with an exercise plan or suggestions.
http://weboflife.nasa.gov/exerciseandaging/intro.html
as you go thru the pages there will be links on the left side to click for a demonstration of the movement.

Heart Having a ruff time with diet~

Hi everybody, Wish I could say I am losing! Every few days I go on a diet, but it don't last. Does anyone know how to get us going on it and to get serious about it? My Dr isn't laughing about it, when I joke. I know I should walk just to get started, but its to hot!

First step is to not look at it as a diet (read temporary). Think of it as a healthstyle change.

Make small changes gradually. Drink lots of water. Do one thing differently (better choice) then the day before, or week before. It takes 21 days to change a habit.

Be patient with yourself. I know I didn't get fat overnight. I just looked one day and there it was.

Hope you find something helpful, in my blabbering. Remember to breathe and forgive yourself too.
