Default Cold Tuesday!

Well here in the NE it is freezing! As of right now it is 49 degrees. Not quite ready for fall yet.
Sorry I have been so absent lately. Been rather busy trying to catch up with work after I was out sick last week. So to make up for it I thought I would start RC.
How is everyone?
Well not much time....just thought I would drop in and let you all know I am still alive!
See you later.

Default Mornin'

Good Morning Wendy and Monkey;

Cold??? Is that a word? What does it mean? We will still be in the 90's today but it does look like it might rain? It is slowly getting cooler in the desert, too.

I have been in another terrible pain flare. I cannot wait until I get my Spinal Cord Implant test done and I sure hope I get positive results.

Nothing planned for me today but to rest in bed so I'd better obey the rules.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Nancy

Heart Hi Everyone~

Nancy, I sure hope you have good results too. As most of you know I have had one and had it taken back out in less than a year. This is common too! It didn't do me any good. Then to have a rep from he** didn't help either. He never followed me up at all. That is very important and you usually don't know till you have had the surgery. They will promise you the moon, then never do nothing after it is inplanted. I have know of only about three that really liked them and I have talked to many online.

Well I am going out to eat lunch will some Red Hatters today in a different town, so I better quit for now. Have a good day!
Hugs,
Billie

Default Can I join you?

Hi. A couple of you answered me in another thread...thanks! So here's the lowdown on me;

I have MS and also a couple of back surgeries. I deal with fatigue and pain from nerve damage on a daily basis but really do pretty well if I just stay to a "normal" routine.

I've struggled with my weight for, let's see...about 20 years. Of course having fatigue hasn't helped any. A few years ago I lost 26lbs and I've kept off all but 5 that yo-yo without my permission. I just got back on program and am really motivated to lose another 10lbs in the next 6 weeks. I walk everyday, even if it's just a block or two. I usually walk at least a mile. The spine only receives passive bloodflow, meaning it doesn't receive bloodflow unless you are moving (walking) and I am determined to keep my back as healthy as possible. My two surgeries were not successful so that is not an option, which is another reason that I just have to get this weight off!

So anyway- I guess my looooooooong term goal would be to lose a total of 51lbs and then re-evaluate. But focusing on the big picture has never worked for me, so it's ten pounds at a time. Hey- I just thought of something. Would anyone want to join me in losing ten pounds by Halloween? I promise a rockin' cyber party to celebrate our collective loss. Maybe not...not sure how this particular thread operates. Anyway- good to find you all. And I look forward to hearing about your goals and accomplishments.

Karen

Hi all,
It was 37 here this morning!! brrr.
Hi Karen, jump right in.
Do you have any special type of plan for the lose 10lbs by Halloween?

Nancy, some members on the Thoracic Outlet Syndrome {TOS} forum as well as the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy {RSD } forum have SC implants or pumps if you are interested in reading more about experiences.
I know RSD has a poll about them.

Default I'll join as well

I will join in the 10 lbs. by Halloween as well. I think this is great motivation.

Jo - Thanks! I know there is lots of info about the SCS's on the site and I have read a few threads about them in the past. I was very negative about SCS with my doctors and they had to work for their money to get me to agree to the trial. My husband said "Yes" right away, but not me. So, once I agreed to the trial, I made the decision to try to stay away from any feedback on SCS. I don't want to be scared, or influenced in any way. Does that make any sense or am I being dumb?

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Nancy

I know what works for me but I just don't always do it. I juice carrot juice in the mornings. Without that I have pretty chronic problems with constipation due to meds...plus it is loaded with vitamins. But my main plan isn't very exciting. I lose weight when I eat lots of vegies and fruit and add in some nuts/seeds complex carbs. I gain weight and feel crappy when I eat sugar and flour products.

So that's my boring plan. Oh and I want to increase my exercising too. And I need to get back to the stretches my doctor ordered. He also encouraged me to take Tai Chi or Yoga but I want to be a little more confident in my body first. (I didn't tell him that though, haha...I just nodded and said, "Yeah sure. Okay.")

How about everyone else? What's your plan? -Karen
