HEY.....I'M BAAAACK :D
oy! what an effort this errand has been. my computer kept turning off.
i called the tech line and nothing helped. so, i had to take it into the apple store in the mall.

that meant that i had to lift it off my desk. i put it on the seat of my rollator.
and i used a couple of belts to tie it to the seat. then i had to transfer it into the car and walk the walker back upstairs.

i know you're really interested in this so let me con't. this am i left the hse at 0930 to get there at 1000. i lifted it out of the car onto the walker etc, etc.
then i had to take the elevator to the 3rd floor and walk a short distance (it seemed like miles to me) to the store. bottom line, they kept it for 2 1/2 hrs.

so, :D i went shopping. i had a cup of coffee. and passed an easy spirit store. i bought the most comfortable and cutest pair of flats. hard to explain but they're leopard print (muted a bit) with black patent leather over the toe part. made the whole trip worth it.

so by now it's 1300 and i'm tired. they fixed the computer. the power in it was defective (don't know what that means) and they fixed it at NO charge.

they put it back on the walker and i asked a cute, strong guy in the parking lot to put it back in the car. then i had to transfer it back to the walker and get it upstairs on my desk. it was all exhausting. i hate malls.

BUT I'M HERE AND IT WORKS so it was all worth it. i sure missed you guys.
i left AMN in charge of my thread. so didn't she do a bang up job? *judy clapping along with all my board buds* :D

i saw the surgeon who marveled at her work and i don't see her til nov.
the appt with the neuro was a complete dud. as far as i'm concerned nothing was accomplished. we got caught up with my leg and he sent me to the US, which was neg. so we didn't cover any other topic including my pain. i don't know why i bother to see him, and pay him. the visits never seem to accomplish anything for me.

i go to the radiation place 9/3 for a simulation run. then i start 6 wks of tx on 9/4. mon-fri. at least i'll be able to wear all my jewlery every day. each day i'll dazzle them with something new. :D

the dr did tell me he thinks my cure rate will be close to 100? with all the tx's together. i'll start the tamoxifen after the radiation is done.

well, thanks for reading all this. i'm in for the next 2 days. maybe i can get caught up on some rest. and i must start the journal AMN badgered :D me about. ?????????

sure missed posting. have a great wk/e all.
see ya's tomorrow. :grouphug:

Judy, wow you have been busy today! You didn't miss much here since the site was down for most of the day. Glad you found some cute shoes! The only thing I like about the mall is Starbucks. lol

yeahbut 08-23-2008 07:46 PM

Judy - I am so happy for you - happy for your health and your computer being fixed!!!

AfterMyNap 08-24-2008 11:40 AM

Well? Well? Did the computer get a clean bill of health or what??

tovaxin_lab_rat 08-24-2008 01:54 PM

Wow! Judy what a busy day! Glad you got a clean bill of health and got your computer fixed! It's Apple just great! I love those people! They are so nice.

I don't know if you saw my post about getting the Apple Travel Kit but I need one for my trip to Wales and the price in the store was higher than online. I commented about that to the clerk and they gave me the online price!

You will start your tx while we are on our trip to Wales but if all goes as planned, we should have internet access and be able to keep up with your progress!

Hang in there Judy and you should take Sunny with you when you go in for your radiation treatments! :D

NurseNancy 08-24-2008 03:53 PM

NO! but i had a teenage mom who had her nipples pierced and planned to breast feed! my how i loved my teen mommies.

cheryl. wow. hope you have a great trip. i think i missed your thread on going away. who are you going with?

i don't have a laptop, mine is a desktop.
they were great in the store, and it was in a busy mall on a saturday. they had my computer back to me in only 2 hrs (dang, not enuf time to shop).
it wasn't under warranty anymore but the part was covered, can't remember the terminology.

darn, can't remember your posts now that i'm replying. oh, my memory.

cindy, did you have to put up a quote from me in neon red? in movie sized letters no less? OY. how is your dad?

today is a relaxing day. i'm in. went back to bed this am. read the paper.
walked, changed linens, vacuumed etc. catching up. tomorrow will be a good day for grocery shopping. rested up and it will be cooler; 83 from 90.

i seem to have lost one of my dearest friends. we have been friends for almost 30 yrs. once before we had broken contact for a long time. we were friends before she was married. i introduced her to her dh. i was at her wedding. i was in the hosp when her kids were born.

several yrs ago around the Jewish New Year i took a chance and called her. she called me back and we resumed a close friendship. she sent me the best card before my surgery. she'd be with me no matter what through this journey. we've been to lunch every couple of wks.

she went to chicago to see her mom and got back the day after my surgery.
cathy called her with an update. then it was the beginning of aug. i called a couple of times, off to voicemail. we spoke once or twice. her dd got engaged and i was invited to the wedding - next july. she was busy with jessica as she was moving to CA with the fiancee. i figured she was real busy with family.

but still no call. a friend who said she'd never leave me. i don't want to call her again. she knows i'm here. i'm so sad. and so disappointed. it's such a loss, especially now. i just don't understand what happened. and i know she's seen other friends thru hard times. she's a strong independent woman.

SandyC 08-24-2008 04:42 PM

Oh Judy, I never understand how friendships end like that. I think we've all had it happen to us at one time or another and we're left wondering what went wrong or what happened. Maybe she just felt like she didn't know how to be a friend and it's easier to hide than to face it? I know Jim and I have lost so many friends since he was dx'd. They just don't know how to handle things and don't realize we are the same people, just a little limited in what we can do. I am sorry it's happened to you. Maybe she is just busy with the wedding plans and such and will call you again soon.

FYI, this thread will probably be closed soon. Doc John thinks the server issues may be related to long threads so they are asking anyone who has a long thread to re-start a new one and keep the post to 100 until they get things figured out. I just started a new Insights thread because ours was closed.

Anyway, my weight is stable. No new loss, no gain.
