just to let you know. after i posted i began to think about what action to take.
i decided to call my friend. i left a message and... she called me back. yea. we are having lunch tues. she has been busy with the family. her dd is moving the 2nd. i'm sure she'll be very sad to see her move away. but good in that she raised such a good kid. she has had a great education, is smart and found a great guy. thanks for the advice on the thread sandy.
