hi all,

i lost 1 1/2 lbs :) i'll be more confident when it turns to 3. i've been trying really hard.
i already walked.

all that's new is on the thread i just put up about my mammo results.
maybe would have been nice if my dr had called me but i heard from the mammo place this am. i scheduled another appt for fri. went to the hospital to p/u the report myself. i can sort of decipher it. it's concerning and warrants a retake but not outright cancer yet.

i've been on methotrexate since last nov so that is a concern.
please let me hang in there til i get the results next wk. the quickest way will be to go back to MR and get the report myself. if it's anything suspicious i'm stopping the med. i'll call my neuro of course. but i'm getting ahead of myself.

i know that they call lots of people back to take a 2nd look but i'm worried.
:)

:grouphug:Hi Judy! Hi All!

Been off camping again last wkend and am trying to play catch up again. Just told DH ~ no camping this next wkend. I need to stay home. Last wk I was on the sofa most of the time, so the chores have piled up.

Keep us posted on the MMGram, Judy~ Did I understand you right that the Methotr. could cause breast health issues? Try to remain positive; I'm guessing everything will be OK. So sorry about the pain you are having....

Thank you for asking about my hip. It's starting to feel better, but I'm taking things slower. I'm still having some dizziness, but that's letting up more and more. (crossing fingers)

NOOOOO~ TWIPPY~~ That is NOT a pic of DM. If it is, then someone at the GTG pierced my naval while I was alseep!!!

Sandy~ Please bottle some of your energy and send it overnight mail to me! I miss those days. You are a good daughter...:)

PS to AMN~ I prefer BLUEBERRY muffin tops w/a lil Bran added.)

Judy, we must be twins! I got a call today to come in tomorrow and get new films and a possible ultrasound too. I'll update when I get back. Hugs for both of us.

NurseNancy 06-02-2008 08:58 PM

you said it sandy.
here's hoping it's just nothing as is probably most common.

NurseNancy 06-02-2008 09:03 PM

oh ps DM,

methotrexate doesn't cause breast health issues.
however, being on low dose methotrexate for MS can possibly cause the growth of tumors (anywhere in the body). it depresses the immune system hopefully reducing sx's of MS.

my dr said it's a very low chance but there is a chance. so, i'll be watching this carefully. i may request a biopsy even if they think it's nothing. they may want to watch it for a few months and test again. who knows.

i'm trying not to jump to conclusions and live in the moment.
but, my nursing knowledge trumps that common sense sometimes.

That is so true Judy. I always heard that medical people are the worse patients. 13 years of working in a hospital and taking care of Jim after work made me one of those. Knowledge is not always power.

Did you know I quit the medical field because I was learning too much? lol The stress of seeing and caring for so many sick and then coming home to care for Jim took it's toll. I developed burnout and knew it was time to get out. I went so far away from it and became an artist. :p I was always told I should be a nurse but my biggest fear was becoming Jim's nurse rather than wife. Funny how life turned out anyway. God knew what was up and let me take flight, if only for a little while. That guy upstairs knows his stuff. ;)

NurseNancy 06-03-2008 03:24 PM

today i had an appt. it's 1130-1230 and i'm usually hungry by that time.
downstairs in their cafe they have the best MUFFIN TOPS. no kidding, it's the truth. i've seen blueberry, coffee cake and choc chip. i wanted it but i didn't do it. then i'd be called missy muffin top and i don't want to take that title away from my little friend. :D

i walked early before my appt.
weight stable.

i did go out for a bite; 1 piece of thin crust cheese pizza and a diet drink.

well toodles.
see ya later

Morning Judy! Thanks to you and Sandy, I remembered that my yrly checkup/mammo is due in July, so I called and scheduled for Aug. So, thank you both for the reminder, even tho it's b/c you are having rechecks.

Keep us posted on your appts, ladies!! They told me that many retakes are done due to the CAD machines now. Not only is the Radiologist reading the films, but the CAD machine does as well.

How's the pain level today, Judy dear? I hate PAIN! My hip is coming around and the vertigo is subsiding, unless I have a flash of light or quick movement.

*crossing fingers and spitting under rock to keep jinx away*

Hope you all have a good day....

I am doing fine! After five smashes to the right and two to the left, they sent me home and said the would see me in a year. Apparently my density changed and they wanted a closer look. The worse one was at the muscle which warranted the five smashes to the right. They used a smaller paddle this time and it didn't hurt like the large flat square. The tech was surprised because she said they get more complaints from the small paddle. Maybe the four Ibuprofin's I took helped. lol

DM, the hospital I go to now has digital mammo and it is great! I was able to see my films come up right away and we stood there comparing them. It also takes the pain away because your watching them come up on the screen as your being smashed. lol Glad to hear your feeling better today! No sudden spins OK?

Thanks for all your well wishes! Judy, I hope yours come out clean like mine did. Hugs!
