i guess each day is going to filled with eventful things good and bad.
i was so nervous this am when i went to see my dr. she's amazing. my friend went with me. she thinks that it's a treatable cancer and i'm not going to die.
she even gave me her cell phone # if i needed to call her. what a nice gal.

then we went to brkfst.
then i went home to wait for calls from the oncologists. they called. i made the appts and felt very good that all this was moving quickly and falling into place.
NOT.

when i spoke to the medical oncologist i just made the appt. it was at a hospital other than the one i chose for my care. then i spoke to the surgical oncologist for an appt and she was at another hospital. so i asked more Q's. come to find out she's got privileges at my hosp of choice but practices at her own hosp.

so neither of these docs would be available to give me care at the hosp of my choice. are you still following this? cause it's making my head spin.
i have a call into my dr about this. i'm just not going to able to use these physicians.

there's another hospital in town that i know is very good. i asked my friend to call her dr's (very good md) office and get his opinion on good docs there. i've also got a few other things to try. but this is throwing a real chink in the armor and i'm pretty nervous right now.

tomorrow is an in day. i'm taking it easy and waiting for phone calls.

my dr said to not worry about eating right now. "go have a brownie if you want one" she said. oy!

Judy, it will all work out. I know what you mean about doctors and hospitals. Just because they are "affiliated" doesn't mean they practice there. So far we've been lucky and have doctors who practice at our hospital of choice.

I am so thankful to hear your doctor thinks it's treatable cancer and that your time here is not done with. Even though I think you'd make a great guardian angel, I think there are too many people here on earth who haven't finished caring about you yet.

Take your time and make the best choices for you, dear Judy. This is your situation and the more empowered you are, the better equipped you'll be to kick its sorry little &^%$@^%$$%&^^%$^& to the curb.

Thank you for the update, Judy. Sounds like you have been a busy gal, but your'e doing research on the best tx/Dr's for your care, is essential to your being able to put all this behind you ASAP.

Keep the fighting spirit, as it's always been w/you. I am so glad to hear the Dr has a good positive attitude to help you beat this. (of which you will)

hi all,

today's been been quiet thank goodness.
my dr called me and we talked about drs.
i'm still sticking with my first choice of medical oncologists and i see him on friday.

i picked a different surgical doc. she's been around a long time and i hear the best things about here from so many peers. i just may need to switch to another hospital but i figure it's better to have the drs i need and to adjust the hospital i go to. hopefully i won't be there too long.

i had a little anxiety attack this morning, vision, the whole thing. so i took an ativan and went to bed. dark, quiet (thankfully) and i fell asleep. then some friends called and i feel much better. i'm getting packets ready for each dr with my medical and legal POA, my med sheet and Q's etc.

when i have the biopsy report from tomorrow i'll make an appt with the surgeon.

i have a call into my friend's Rabbi and all else is good.
thanks to all my friends for your hugs and love, thoughts and prayers and support. you are all in my heart.

Good girl, Judy, it sounds like you are taking the most progressive and proactive approach. It's really up to you and taking the bull by the horns will pay off for you later.
