Default My patince has reached an end.

For my weak excuses and lack of discipline.
I'm finally mad enough to fight back, and lose this weight.

A quick history: I've always been a big dude. 6'4" anywhere from 250 to 300+ lbs. In fact I lost my career in the Air Force because of my weight. Honorable Discharge, but not conforming to standards. Seems Uncle Sam only wants skinny little punks to die or kill for the country.

Anyway, left for Basic training in San Antonio weighing 230lbs. (GAWD! That was a lifetime ago.) After 6 weeks in the August sun of south Texas, I only managed to lose 10 more pounds.

Now I have avascular necrosis in the hip I broke 2 years ago in a car wreck. The VA will do the hip replacement for me... once I get under 300lbs.

I haven't gotten on the scale in awhile. But as of right damn now, this weight is coming off. Yes I walk with a cane and spend time in a wheelchair. I can still walk. I can still move. And I am still alive.

The rest of my life pivots on losing this weight and getting the hip fixed. No. I'm not exagerating.

Amen brother Moose! I step on the scale everyday just to remind myself that I need to lose some weight to lower my chances of death by heart clog.

We are all in the same boat, only some are being successful and actually losing. I'm not one of them , but I intend to try. Lets all pull together and do this. Like you said, all we can do is lose weight! I like to loose 10 pounds, then look at 10 another 10 pounds. Will go threw my refrig tomorrow. Come on and lets do this. There is no time like the present.

You're gonna make it Moose! getting mad and fighting the weight is a great motivator. OK, so I can't spell the word, I hope you know what I mean. LOL
I am trying to get mad enough and sick enough of my situation, at my age of 65, to do something about it before I am 70, and can't get out of a chair, nearly that way now. Not to smart on my part, is it? froggie

Hey Moose I am right there with you. I started Weight Watchers 3 weeks ago and have lost 6 lbs. I have a long way to go but I'm going to fight this until the end.

Seriously, I know how much the extra weight can hinder you, as you and I have discussed our increasing weights before...I see a doc this week myself for a gastric bypass,definitely a different measure than dieting and exercise...which I have tried believe me. But who cares how we lose it as long as we feel better and improve the quality of our lives!

P.S. I still need your addy for a postcard!

go MOOSE go MOOSE...you can do it....we know you can....I am working on it with yoga...as most other exercise bothers my sxs....so far so good..my muscles are in shock and feeling it badly..hehe in a good way...
