Default Happy Saturday!

Hi all,

I have been up since 4:00 a.m. so I took the time to read all the past posts, including the one about this new ongoing format of checking in. Great idea!

I am doing ok physically recovering from back to back implant surgeries. This last stimulator will NOT be moving as it is tied to the lamina on my spine in about 5 places. I had more training on the remote control. Now some of you computer whizes will find this amusing but it messed me up good: You know how sometimes, a user gets a little information which leads them to think they can do a LOT? Well, my additional training was just enough info to allow me to get deeper into the program than I should have and I turned the main feature OFF by mistake. So I had to call the rep on a Friday afternoon and he walked me through restoring it. Ooops. Anyway, the physical part of me is recovering on schedule but I'm emotionally not in a good place. I've been in lots of pain since Sept. which has drained me and has taken a toll on my relationship with the Mr. who is also disabled. I put all my hope into this stimulator knowing full well that a 25-30% reduction in pain would be likely. I have more swelling that needs to subside before we determine how much the stimulator helps but, I don't even know how to explain what I feel. I'm just down and tired, not sleeping, etc. So please forgive me for not being around more. I know a person only gets back what they put in so I will try to be more active.

As for getting caught up, some of you have been really busy.

Dorrie - Bless your heart for taking on your granddaughter. She's obviously a lucky little girl to have such grandparents.

Alffe - Great work on the weight loss. I really think the Mr. and I will give it (South Beach diet) a try as we are almost there now. We have the book, all we need is the cook!

Jo - Sorry you are having sleep issues and you are correct, insomnia is directly linked to weight among other things. I see my sleep doc in 2 weeks and nothing has changed for me. I think it is genetic, my mom doesn't sleep and hasn't slept well consistenly for decades. Some of my siblings are the same way. I think if I excercise more, (as much as I can without hurting my neuropathy), I will sleep better. But you excercise a lot. It's a weird thing, sleep, and no fun when you have to get up so early. Yuck. Good Luck.

Froggie - I hope you are still connected. We can't loose you, you are vital to this group! But, I really understand about the money crunching. We've had our ups and downs and whoever said money can't make you happy is WRONG! A couple of million right now would make me very happy

Bizi - Thanks for the list of super foods. That opened my eyes! Problem is, I dislike many of them so I will have to eat some of those I like and start from there. I took the Real Age test and am 9 months over my actual age. I'll look at the results more closely and see if I can do some things to bring it down in line or under my age. I will be 55 in July! Where does the time go?

Billie - You are getting married??? This is one very lucky man and he'd better treat you like a queen or he will have crabby old me to report to! I am so happy for you, reading that really made my day. My step-son is getting married May 24th. Get this - they are having the ceremony and reception at a place in OR that used to be a church camp. Folks attending can stay in a cabin that's been sort of fixed up but still a cabin. For me, a cabin is just toooo close to being outside in the woods with bugs and stuff (Dorrie - I am no camper, can't ya tell.) so the Mr. and I got a room at a Bed & Breakfast 7 miles away. Now that's my kind of camping . The young people are all staying in the cabins and will have loads of fun, I'm sure.

That's all except, "SNOOZIE - I MISSED YOU". We Nevada gals need to stick together here. I'm sure you have been busy with your family but it was so good to see your name.

Does anyone know what's happened to FibroWendy?

Love to all,
Nancy

Good Saturday Morning everyone, thanks for the welcome backs. I have missed being here.

Nancy, you have been through 2 major surgeries with this pain pump (not sure that is what it is called) but anyway give yourself time to get over that and hopefully your body will quiet down. When hubbys work slows down I would like to come meet you in person and have lunch. We can certainly use a day away, who knows maybe stay a night with the great packages they offer at the Casablanca. I have alway wanted to do that.

Hi Bizi, loved the Proud video. Makes ya think and do something positive.

Hi Gaye, thanks for the push, we can do this together!

Everyone else, I hope today is a sunny day where you are. Should be in the 80's today with lots of sun so I have plenty to share...Sue

Default Thank you

Thanks, dear friends, for writing back.

Oh Sue, that would be so much fun, to meet you and your hubby. When it's a good time for your hubby, we will get a plan put together!

Bizi - Since I take so many meds already, I'm not sure if another one would do anything but I will sure ask. Good thought!

Thanks for the hug Alffe - you didn't even disturb my incisions! Froggie - so glad you are still around.

Talk to you all soon,
Nancy

Good Morning All!

Missed church today, Don has not recovered fully from the terrible sickness he had a 3 weeks ago. He is still having lots of joint and muscle pain and his lower back is smacked! Me. I don't feel too chipper yet am OK...just resting with my man. Probably will ride Mo-Mo today with Zoe after the ground dries off some. My scooter has been the best thing since"Carter invented Pills!" LOL

Hope Billie is better, glad to see Sue and Nancy. Nancy keep resting and hopefully all the swelling will go down. Hugs to y'all. froggie
