i hope i didn't sound harsh mari ...guess ww turning such a good program into a fab ticks me off.

for many years the clubs i ran reccomended mainly ww. it was easy and worked. big thing was to keep measure cups and spoons handy.

the fruits aren't so bad if you pick the ones lowest in sugar, until you get your sugars balanced and are using them, not storing.

eating watermelon..the sugar goes right to blood stream and not to your organs which need them.

Thank you everyone

I am hoping I did better today.

I know I put a effort to really watch what I ate. But I still have lots
of trouble with something in my head. I'm thinking its not due to this
though. I'm afraid my sinus's and my head are acting up again. I
just got off the sinus's medication too which is not making me happy.

But I got up this morning and I decided more than anything I was going
to take my day off like planned. And just try to do some exercise.

But the exercise didn't happen the way it was supposed to, but that is
okay. I got to do some walking like I could.

Breakfast
6:30am breakfast cookie and water

8:00am dannon yogurt soothie & 20 oz water

10:00am scrambled eggs and orange juice 20 oz

1:00pm Diet coke, hotdog

2:30 carmel rice cakes, water 20 ozs.

5:00 brown rice, grilled slices chicken breast, peas, skim milk mozarella
cheese, mixed together.

Diet coke

I will probably have a snack later but that has been my day for food.

My exercise has been through groceries, and stores walking.
And through parking lots.

I have also been doing some dancing with the dogs. Derrick and I will
go for a walk soon.

My plan to start my exercise hit snags, they can't seem to get it started,
but on Friday I will get my orientation. And get started, my personal
trainer hours start on June 2nd, because I have a epidural next week.

dear donna,
I think that you really tried and did a great job today for your food choices, sounds great!

did you really drink 20oz of orange juice?
I am sorry that is not a good choice.
they make a light cranberry juice which is very good. and tomatoe juice or v8 juice is a better choice, not as much sugar. orange juice is like drinking a regular pop!
They suggest that we eat food for our calories and try not to drink them....that way we get to eat more food!
I think seeing a nutritionist is an excellant idea.
thinking of you sweetie,
We are here to help.

bizi is correct.

i don't know what your breakfast cookie is. can you write down the name or what the package says? with dinner i don't know how much anythin gyou ate.

20oz of orange juice....280 calories.

if the dannon smoothie was the little dan active bottle....80 calories.
(but depending on the variety..the calores differ, so does the serving size. this was for a 3 oz)

1 egg srambled.....101 calories 7.4 g fat

1 small hot dog ( you didn't mention bun or not...so this is just the meat..no bread..plain ).....240 calories 18 g fat.

1 rice cake ( i found cinnamon, not carmel) 50 calories and 1 g fat.

just in this much food is 751 calories. if you used any butter or oil when frying the egg or ate more than 1, then add that. same with the hotdog. if you ate a bun or added anything on top, add that.

have you tried measuring your food? keeping a very accurate record for a little while will help you see exactly how much you are eating.

you are on the right track donna.

Honestly don't know how much orange juice I drank. I was in
Mc Donalds, and had that instead of pop.

I got a medium. But didn't drink it all at once. I knew that I
had to keep it for a while, because I had to go get three of my
medicines and I needed to take two of them with something to
eat or drink. Water wouldn't have worked.

So instead of waiting for the next snack I got a medium instead
of small orange juice. It looked like that size cup. But honestly
don't have a clue how full it was.

Have to admit, I'm not one to drink orange juice really so, it was
just I was trying to stay away from the pop there.

I had water too. But I knew if I wasn't careful I'd be buying a coke
too.

The breakfast cookie is a quaker chocolate chip. Its 180 calories.

But its technically keeping me out of the sweets that are in my
house in the morning. I am substituting this need for chocolate.

See there are candy bars and oreo cookies both in the house.
So if I eat this, I can keep out of those. So I'm doing myself more
good nutritionally, and I also need to eat something with the medicine
I have to take at that time in the morning. But can't usually handle
getting cereal or anything. My neck has been so bad I haven't been
able to sleep to well, and that isn't helping.

But I know that its just that if I weren't doing what I can, and eating
something to take my meds to stay on schedule then I'd be in worse
shape. See lots of the time, I have to leave by 7am, so if I don't
get the meds at 6:30am I'd be late or not at all to much.

Plus I take 14 different medications in the morning so its really hard to
get it all down without something in the stomach. But if I eat to much
then I can't keep the meds down.

So its a really vicious cycle. I usually have to wait a hour to eat a good
breakfast, thats why I used to take something more to eat with me.
Now I'm going to have to figure out how to handle that. I have
to be on the road, to early to not eat. So I have to figure out how
I can pack a breakfast and a lunch tomorrow.

I'm working on it. I made my own supper tonight, I really enjoyed
it. I worked hard to figure that one out.

I did miss the strawberry-banana water south beach mix, and the
hot tea, and the celery I've been munching on to keep from finding
things I shouldn't eat.

eating something small in the early am is a good thing donna. i know you have to eat with the meds, but it actually will help speed up your metabolism.

cooking your own dinner allows you to control what is in and how it's prepared. restraunts, fast foor or sit down..you never really know for sure.

i love to cook. we rarely ever eat out. it's like a hobby for me.

keep it up donna! you can do it!!!

Hi donna,
The things we have to relearn...
For fast food milk is probably a better choice over orange juice.
It has protein that will help keep you feeling fuller longer and doesn't raise your blood sugar too fast.

Kashi makes a great high fiber oats bar.
They also make a good high fiber cereal, it is called go lean....it probably has the most amount of fiber in a good tasting cereal. I can't stand the fiber one sticks yuck!

I also only use the double fiber bread in my house, it is made by natures own.
It has double the fiber, low calorie, lower carbs....
I make a quick cheese sandwich with 2 slices of cheese in the microwave...this is a quick walk out the door option.
I use pepper jack for the added flavor.

I also use low carb tortillas mission makes them. they are high fiber and you can use them like bread for wraps...these are my only bread sources in my house.
I buy only triscuits for crackers because they are high fiber.
I have sugar free popsicles to snack on.
I love the 100 calorie bags of pop corn...they are very satisfying.

fast food: you can get a kids meal. get the fruit and low fat milk. smaller portion and you get a toy. they don't ask your age.

even on adult meals, mcdonalds will give you the apple slices and milk.
