Ok I am trying really hard not to throw the towel in with the south beach diet. I am in phase one so I don't get any type of bread or carb. Meat, vegtables and lowfat dairy. I figure I am not eating enough because I really don't like meat much. The nausea is still an issue plus the low fat sandwich meat is way to much sodium so I have to nix that.
The only way I ever lost weight was counting calories...I don't know why I just can't stick to it.

Hope yall are doing better than me.

If you feel it's not a fit for you have you looked at other eating plans - i don't like the word Die t ?? LOL

If you would like me to look up some info in the "eat right 4 your blood type" book I will be happy to do it.

just post your blood type.
for me A+ = meats are not that great - only occasionally

It seems to fit - for what foods I can and can't eat with/with out tummy troubles.

south beach just may not be right for your system.

another one that seemed to feel good for me was
"the womans advantage diet" by dr henry mallek {1989} but I liked it.
it worked with the hormonal fluctuations ect.

mrsq from what you have posted....i'd say the south beach diet isn't for you either. it's one of those diets that you have to follow and eat the the foods or you don't lose.

have you looked into dr phils ulitmate weight loss solutions? it is easy. not a diet, but teaches you the lifestyle changes. uses foods that you and your family eat, just helps to modify to lower the fat and calories. i ran a support group. and the support...it really does help.

cutting calories by watching portion size helps. use measure cups.

hang in there. don't give up!! but maybe switch to something else?

Default I"m Back From Vacation

Hello all, I'm back from my cruise and I am happy but very tired today after flying 9 hours yesterday. But I just had to check in and say "Hello" to my favorite people, who I missed communicating with! After being gone 12 days, I am buried in laundry. I think we packed everything we owned and it all needs to be washed because even the clothing that was not worn picked up an odd smell from the ship. It is soooo humid being on the ocean, especially because in Nevada we are used to very low humidity.

So, I will check in again tomorrow but I hope you are all doing well. After eating all the wonderful food on the ship, I am probably going to freak out the next time I get on a scale. So, I need to cut those calories starting today!

Love to all,
Nancy-H

Hello gang, I agree with many on the idea of a diet. It seems that once I get set on a diet I sabatoge myself and I am hungry all the time. I think it is a mind set sort of thing. I need to change my style of eating. I cook the same meals my mom did and I know I need to try other options. Obviously moms cooking was good but not always healthy.

I am going to try to find some recipes for soups. Now that it is supposed to be getting cold (it is 81 right now) I like to eat soups in the winter. The only recipe I have is for a veggie soup with lots of cabbage in it. I make a pot of that and we will eat it all day long. Does anybody have any other recipes that are quick and easy but still healthy?

Other than that same ole same ole. I am not gaining or losing which actually I was glad to see on the scale since there is way too much chocolate around here. I need physical activity but don't have the gumption to get off my butt and do something!!! There I said it...I am lazy!!! So how do you get motivated to get moving when getting through the day is hard enough? Sue

Hi everyone.

I blew my diet by pigging out on chocolate since last night.

Sue, I can't get motivated either. Knowing my husband will be getting our house I have no desire to keep it up for him when he moves back in next month. I just can not stand my husband sometimes for all the bad things he did to me.

Befuddled your post reminded me of a joke email that I got a good while back. The ex-wife was having to move out of the house and to get back at her ex she put shrimp in the hollow drapery rods. It goes on to say that after her ex and his new girlfriend moved in they had all the carpets cleaned, repainted, and searched and searched for the smell. This made the ex wife smile every time he complained about the smell and she never told him. Now this was just a joke and I am in no way saying you should do that but it sure would be fun wouldn't it?

Maybe you can use him as the motivation to get out and exercise and look better than ever. Remember living well is the best revenge. Sue
