Buy extra sets at the dollar store. Keep them out, so that you see them and will use them.
It's extremly important to know exactly how much you are eating. To learn portion size and control. Some cereal you can have a cup, others, 3/4 or 1/2 cup. Measure the milk too! Most peolpe use triple the amount! Try it and see. Pour what you normally do, then measure it. Those calories will add up fast. If you eat lunch meat, use the number of slices it says per serving. Or less! Cut out the bread and have a meat and cheese roll up. Read the label. I can't stess this enough. It iwll help you make wiser choices. If a package or recipe tells you that serving size is 1/2 cup. Measure it. If your salad dressing says 1 tablespoon, use that. You will learn to judge by site, but don't always trust those ole peepers. They are the windows to the stomach and that stomach is used to getting too much. The tricks of using smaller plates and bowls does work. Get out the fancy stuff. Use it. Make eating a meal a special time. Not a time where you think you are being deprived.

I measure everything. That is how I lost the weight before. I did 1200 calories a day. Which is what I am doing now.
Before when I lost, I eventually got to where I could just look and know how much is was. Retraining the brain I guess. DAY |
