Thanks so much for the info.

Yes they are actually organic green lentills.

So you think they should be okay to try sprouting with them.

I was looking on the web too and most of the info there says to get them online. So was just wondering about the grocery store kind.

Toxins yikes I don't like the sound of that, but you say that the lentils are okay without a sautee so thats cool. And I think that's as adventurous as I am ... at this point

So thanks again and I will put a little batch to soak tonight.

yeah, soak them overnight in a nice jar of water (wash them first). The whole thing is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, and RINSE WELL RINSE WELL, RINSE WELL.

THEN DRAIN, DRAIN DRAIN. lol

You're gonna love what I just did.

I'm going to start a new thread on it because I just bought something to hold my sprouts. You'll have a good laugh.

Give me two minutes and I'll post the video.

Hey Melody

Nice to see ya.

I'm not sure I could ever get used to sprouts. I am not a bean eater either.

Donna:

I never ate a bean in my life. I was afraid they were too gassy. But I had read that they were a complex carb and a low glycemic, so... when I learned that they could be sprouted and that it makes them less gassy and you don't get bloated, well I figured, hey I need the protein.

So far so good. Today I made a sprout soup. I shredded some carrots in some Swanson reduced sodium broth. I added some chopped onion, and my sprouted lentils and beans. cooked the whole thing up.

When Alan came home from his doctor appointment, I asked him "would you like a nice bowl of hot soup?" He said "sounds like a plan". I had made some Dreamfield's low carb pasta, only I didn't cook it like spaghetti. I took the bunch of pasta and made little pieces of it and threw it in the pot of boiling water.

It really made the soup nice and thick and very substantial.

Alan was in heaven. I'm just happy I can eat this stuff. It's wonderful to eat things that not only taste nice but that I grew much of it in my kitchen.

What a hoot!!

lol
