Red face Knee and foot pain

I've been walking since the 26th of December. Now suddenly it hurts to walk.
On Monday I was on the treadmill when I started getting sharp pains on the inside of my foot. I forced myself to finish up 3 miles.

Tuesday my foot hurt to just walk across the floor. I decided to rest it and not get on the treadmill. Then I noticed my knee hurting.
I didn't get on the treadmill on Wednesday either.

Today I got back on the treadmill. I was hurting with the first few steps.
I forced myself to do a mile, but didn't push it beyond that.

Anyone have any ideas on this? I don't want to have to go to the doctor. They will just say "stay off the treadmill and it won't hurt"

I don't know if I should just push through it and work out anyway or is I should just do something else.
I feel good when I walk. I hate to give it up.

my feeling is that pain is a signal that something isn't right in the body.

you might have pulled a muscle or tendon. you might need to stop to just give your body part a rest. then resume but cut you time drastically. only walk if it's comfortable. when it starts to hurt, stop.

you knee might be hurting because of your foot. sometimes when 1 part hurts another part will start compensating to make up the difference.

don't push. that would be my best advice for right now.

Hi Day! I remember when I got my first treadmill years ago. I overdid it and ended up at the Podiatrist, b/c I had blown my Achilles from overuse. I agree w/Judy, in that, I would rest the foot until it feels better and then gradually work back up to where you were before the injury.

I applaud you however, 3 miles!!?? You totally are the WOMAN!!!

take care!

Lightbulb the elliptical may be better for you.

Treadmills are hard on some people.

I don't think you should EVER exercise when you feel pain.
There are other ways to do the same thing.

Some of the ellipticals now with foot pedals that go down, and very low impact. There is even a good new machine called the Nu-Step that is moving out of rehab into gyms. See if you can find it. I really like this one. It reduces the impact on hips, knees and feet and gives a good aerobic workout anyway.

A good evaluation by a reputable podiatrist may identify some
foot issues with you that can be corrected.

Here's some cause's of Knee and foot pain... Hope you like it man...
Causes
* sudden increase in the amount of walking, such as sightseeing while on vacation or addition of hills/ stairs to daily routine.
* Slow onset without any clear cause. May be due to muscles tightening slowly over many years.

Day, before you invest in too much, start with the shoes. Cheap or old shoes are your enemy. If you haven't already, get fitted by a professional in a solid, sturdy, and proper shoe for your feet.

Your feet, legs, knees, back and shoulders will thank you almost immediately.
