I started eating low carb for my diabetes 3 years ago and added walking (back when I could) and lost 105 lbs, then gained back about 55 lbs this past year and now I am 3.5 lbs from my all time low of 195 (198.5 this morning!
I am looking forward to the day I can safely add exercise back in my life as I thrived on it (helped control pain and just made me feel darn good).
Count me in even though I also post on a low carb forum that I give most of the credit to!

Question Does anyone else have trouble weighing themselves?

Does anyone else have trouble weighing themselves?

My problem is that I get obsessed with it, and that tends to quickly lead to a feeling of hopelessness.

If I weigh myself in the morning and I'm heavier, then I keep weighing myself in the hope it will go back down...

Sooooo, I've been trying to lose weight by dress size rather than scale.

I had lost 22 in about three months, but then I had so much trouble walking again, after and during stress, that now I'm terrified that there's no change left.

It's that feeling that there's no change, that it's hopeless...

How do you deal with that?

Smile May I join y'all?? :)

Hey, everybody!

What an awesome idea! I wanted to tell you that I started Weight Watchers last August, and in just over a year, I have lost nearly 82 lbs!!! There's still plenty to go, but I know I can do this for the rest of my life. If anyone wants the scoop, let me know via PM.

Hi Lizard, wow, is that ever exciting!!!!
Well done!!!!

I was going to join, but then when my condo was foreclosed and sold without me knowing I got scared because I was thinking I would have that money to take care of myself in my old age. So then I was afraid to spend the little I have.

what I think I'd like most about it is the company... the friends sharing the same goals..

I'm kind of looking forward to this thread... friends... sharing...

wieght watchers is wonderful lizard. it teaches you lifestyle changes not a diet to follow.

wow junie, that is a fantastic weight loss! any type of exercise is good for you. even isometric until you can go out walking again.

the scale can be a friend or foe consider this. if watching you size works for you, then stay off the scale. keep up with your weight by your waiste band.

i can get discourged by the scale since i have a higher muscle mass. years ago i would get on the scale after a co-worker and she would be bigger than me and weigh less. that was not fun.

I was using Shaklee Soy Protein along with a vitamin pac and doing great. Lost 33 lbs. Now I am back eating again and so mad at myself. I just went to the grocery store and bought Chic-fil-a ice dream...ate it...and then bought chocolate chip cookies. I ate 2 realized what a dumb bunny I was, and threw the whole box out the car window. I know, I know, I DID litter, and don't EVER do that, but I was desperate. I don't know what is the matter with me, I need to get back my mind set of eating to live, and NOT living to eat! I am down to 209 lbs and I have GOT to keep going to my goal.
Trouble with me is I can do NO EXERCISE at all, due to pain issues. Yet it is still very much possible to lose weight without doing exercise. I have already proved that to myself...now to get my head on straight again!

Considerthis, I too have to stay from the scale or else I will get upset over not losing enoough and will eat or find I have lost and think I can splurge. I like letting my clothes getting bigger be my guide. Maybe once a week for you would work better.
