Thumbs up Reply to BlueMajo

I have gained 12 lbs in the past month, so I may not be the one to answer this. Also, I hate exercise and feel to weak to even keep up the simplest housework. I know that you need inspiration. Visualizing yourself as one of your thin "heroes" helps. When I lost most of my weight back in the 80's [went from 140 to 111 in 6 weeks], I rode a bike and visualized myself as Mick Jagger! I decided that if I tried to move like him, I should eventually look like him, and that more or less happened - in the body that is. Yogurt with Splenda is a good sugar substitute, as is fruit. Fiber helps and chewing ice helps. Remember that any kind of movement, not necessarily exercise or work, burns calories. I spend a lot of time in bed due to my disabilities, but my feet are always wiggling, and that's how I account for not gaining more wt. than I do. I never got back up to 140, after keeping the weight off for 2 years, and now I consider 112 to be too heavy. That's mainly because I am poor, and cannot afford to replace all my jeans for a bigger size. Movement helps. Fruits and veggies help. Visualization seems to help. They say you can do anything you can visualize yourself doing! billie bluecat

Default Blubber Buddies

Before my injury I was fit and thin. Enforced idleness and Lyrica (is there a cheese cake in every pill?) ended that. I know my weight gain is unhealthy and contributes mightily to my depression. I know I eat things I shouldn’t when I feel sad.

I think a buddy system might help a lot. Folks pay a ton to join Weight Watchers online just to get peer support to keep them on track.

Would anyone here be interested in joining a social group devoted to encouraging members through their various weight loss attempts? We could check in each day and report how things are going. We could call it something like I Didn’t Cheat Today or Stop Me Before I Cheat. Some of the guys might even mistake it for a fidelity support group and offer us some unintended entertainment.
