Default Mornin on this Hump Day!

Been so sick I haven't been on. Started Friday and by the time Sat. morning rolled around I had a 103.7 temp! I was sure a sick puppy. I went to the Dr. Monday and have an acute sinus infection. What grief it has caused me! I lost my voice and all. I know they loved it here.....

One thing is I lost 8 lbs. Not the way to do it but it helps I guess.

I hope everyone else is fine. I am still a bit weak so will cut this short. Billie sorry I cut out on the shopping spree early but I didn't feel well. But it was fun anyways.

Take care ladies and stay warm you that are having all that snow.

Sher

Thumbs up Good to hear from you~

Sher, I have been thinking about you. I hope your over this soon. I am going shoping today for awhile. It is going to get in the forties and drop tomorrow to 23. Burr, especially with wind. I could stand winter if we wouldn't have a wind chill temp. I have got to do some outside things done too. I'm even heating my cats house. No kidding, heating there water too. You in the south have it made. ha!

Well how is everybody today? I hope we have a big turn out on roll call. I haven't weighed in for awhile. I don't want to get discouraged. I am changing medicine in a couple days and doc doesn't think it will work well with me. My problem is the drug company is controling what I can take and are switching me over to cheap drugs. I can pay up front and may have to on some things. It's not fair that they won't help pay, for I sure have to pay them for the plan.

Well I'm off to the farm to feed animals and check furnaces. One more month and I'll be done with that. Praise The Lord! You all have a good day.
Blessings,
Billie

Good morning all, still taking it easy on the puter time so I have not been posting much. I still read every now and then but limit the typing time. So I just got through eating my oatmeal for breakfast and I have been trying to eat healthy and drinking lots of water, I have not been on the scale though because if I don' see a loss i get discouraged.

Sher, I hope you get to feeling better real soon. I hate those sinus infections they can be rough. try drinking hot tea, that always helped me.

Billie, I guess I am spoiled with the weather here. I was complaining about having to wrap the palm trees and that was just a one time thing and here you are having to heat water and your cat house. I am going to get some shopping done today too.

Have a great day everyone...Sue

Good morning everyone~
Sorry you were so sick Sher! Sinus infection is painful--first hand experience here! I hope you're on the getting better side! I also hope things in your life are getting better for you too honey! You SO deserve it!

You keep busy Billie! That helps keep your mind occupied. I'm glad you like your new house--how did Bear make the transition? I'm sure he'd be fine anywhere you are! Keep on keepin' on honey! I think about you a lot and still need my red boa many days!! My angel!

I'm doing remarkably well--not that oral surgery is brain surgery or anything serious. I was telling BS last night that I kinda had a revelation--no, I didn't see Mary anywhere or anything, jeesh.

I was given Darvocet, Iboprophin (sp) 800mg and an antibiotic all to be taken 4 x's/day and I feel like a new woman. I take these on top of all of teh other meds. I had to bring in a list of all I was on so there wouldn't be any interactions. Yesterday I wasn't on here cuz I was in the kitchen baking two batches of Christmas cookies. Yeah, I caught myself whistling to the Christmas carols I had playing. When I stopped to think about my pain levels, I rated them at about a 2-3--piece of cake, walk in the park!!

I am used to tolerating a 5-6 daily. It is just part of my life. I've accepted my life with that pain level. Why do I have to? Why can't I whistle every day? Why can't I enjoy life with pain levels (pain level of 2-3? THAT'S pain??) of 2-3? Why do I have to accept my life with pain of 5-6? Why can't I be happier? I'm 50 years old, not 80. I'm not ready for teh fox farm yet, right Sher!! I hardly noticed my feet, legs, joints, back or neck, and I was baking for four hours! Of course I overdid it, and suffered, but do you guys understand what I'm saying?

OK, I'm done now. I see my Internist at Mayo on the 14th, and I am going to be talking about this. He's the one who prescribes the Tramadol. He prescribes all of my meds, believe it or not--even the meds coming from teh Neurology dept. It's a strange situation. I don't know what's going to become of this, but I wanted to share with you guys.

I'm off to the grocery store for my morning walk. You guys behave today, ok? Yesterday we only got a warning, but GC and that d@mn skateboard...... could you PLEASE leave it home just ONE time???? We only have one grocery store in town, and I know I am dieting and all, but I DO need to get SOME groceries!! The next town is 15 miles away! Oh, I plan on baking some more cookies this afternoon. I give most of them away for Christmas presents. One year I had over 2,000 in my freezer! It's therapy for me.

AND box of candy update: I gave it to my girlfriend that took me to my oral surgery appointment. She took it home to her hubby and son. ALL GONE!!

Get your tennies and lipstick on BABES! Here we go!!
Hugs,
LS
PS--sorry, no time to proof--get over it!! hehehe
PPS-SueBabe-Morning--you snuck in on me while I was typing! Get your walking shoes on honey!!!

Good morning all
Billie, My mom also uses a warmer to heat the bird bath for the birdies in the winter time.
another friend of mine ues a heat lamp for her little chickens in her yard. We too are not used to cold weather down here and the 30's feel liek single digits with the wind chill.
Snozzie, I grew up in northern indiana and should be used to the "cold weather"
I am a whimp now after having lived in louisiana for 6 years now and Arizona for 4 before that.
You would think that I would be able to handle the cold...I used to live in Alaska when I was in the service but I am not.....
anyway
Nice to see posts from people today....although Sher, I am sorry that you have been so sick...sinus infections are awful!
And especially great to hear about your better pain control Jan...you are too young to be putting up with just fair pain control when there are better meds out there.
I am losing my best friend soon, she and her new born(and hubby) are moving about 4 1/2 hours away...this makes me sad as I have never had a best friend like her before....
anyway...
I must get going today

Default Morning All!!

It's is still morning for Sue and I and for the rest of you, Good Afternoon.

Well, I am home alone today except for my little weiner dog, Tootsie. She is so much fun, I love her almost like a kid. She is behaving better than my youngest who is giving me fits. First, he has been going through a break-up for the last 6 months (maybe an exageration but it feels like more). This girl is playing him like a deck of Vegas cards. We keep telling him she is no good but he has his head in places that I don't want to think about. He has had 4 jobs in the last year he has lived here in our town. This last one was a good one at a casino with good pay and benefits. Well, he went to Vegas for his days off (Sun/Mon) to visit a friend. He was suppossed to be home yesterday afternoon in time for work and never showed. Wouldn't pick up his cell. At 3:00 I got a text message saying he would call in a minute. He didn't. His start time at work came and went. The casino never called so I figured he called and quit. Sure enough, at midnight I get an e-mail stating that he found a job and was staying in Vegas. I have not heard from his since. Don't know when he will come to pick up his stuff, all he had was 24 hrs. worth of clothing. (He must be wearing his friends' stuff, they are the same skinny size.) After the message at midnight I tried to sleep but my pain was sky high until about 3:30 a.m. I guess he will show up sooner or later and I am doing pretty well staying strong but this child has been my cross to bear his entire life and maybe it's time to just let go. Good thing is, I can't eat so maybe I will loose a couple of pounds - YEAH!

Tomorrow afternoon I am the guest of the MRI dept. at a hospital about 30 miles away. I have a brain, neck and back MRI scheduled so I will be one with the giant tube! Docs think I may have MS. I think "NO I DON'T"! We'll see who wins.

So, my dear friends, keep me in mind or send me an PM with advice about my son, but I know I need a little help letting go. I know this forum is for weight control but I don't know anyone in the emotional help forums and I can't just dump this story on strangers. It took me 2 hours to make up my mind to let you all know.

SHER - Get well soon, honey. That stuff can get dangerous.

SUE - Enjoy your shopping - HO HO HO

BILLIE - As usual girlfriend, you are doing too much so be careful.

BIZI - I am so sorry you are loosing a friend with a baby, yet. Shows you just how precious friends are.

I'll try to talk to you all soon,
Nancy
