I know how he feels - when his mom mentions him being overweight.

my mom, dad ,some aunts, my brother and I were watching a video slideshow of my other brothers wedding reception.
there was a bad pic of me looking pretty much not slim .

and my mom blurted out "that picture sure doesn't make you look very skinny!"

I was just "what??"
she doesn't usually do this sort of thing!
But my bro pipes up and says " mom! that's not very nice"
Of course I just kind a laughed it off.
but pointing out the fact that I'm not skinny anymore does hurt.

I used to be very small for my age growing up had to take some thyroid pill or growth something {in the 1960s}

and I was skinny for years till having the 4 kids and hitting 40-LOL
plus the TOS/RSI stuff that can give sore muscles and trigger points if you over do.

But that feeling of being criticized by a parent is a bummer.
Almost makes ya want to go out and eat something very fattening to rebel!
