I know how he feels - when his mom mentions him being overweight.
my mom, dad ,some aunts, my brother and I were watching a video slideshow of my other brothers wedding reception. there was a bad pic of me looking pretty much not slim . and my mom blurted out "that picture sure doesn't make you look very skinny!" I was just "what??" she doesn't usually do this sort of thing! But my bro pipes up and says " mom! that's not very nice" Of course I just kind a laughed it off. but pointing out the fact that I'm not skinny anymore does hurt. I used to be very small for my age growing up had to take some thyroid pill or growth something {in the 1960s} and I was skinny for years till having the 4 kids and hitting 40-LOL plus the TOS/RSI stuff that can give sore muscles and trigger points if you over do. But that feeling of being criticized by a parent is a bummer. Almost makes ya want to go out and eat something very fattening to rebel!
