Nancy, I remember those daily sticks. It's nice to get a break from it. How appropriate for Independence Day weekend!

saw my new pain dr yesterday. i think i'm going to stick with her.

she really doesn't want me on Soma. she says it's the next drug to leave the market from the FDA. of course i can't remember why.

i'm going to re-try baclofen.

more importantly she went over my mri. it was lumbar with some S areas.
i was shocked to look at it. my hips and facets and whatever else is in there is very lopsided. sorry for how i'm saying things. i just can't seem to think of the proper words.

anyway, my right side is inches higher than my left. my ligaments are torqued and stretched, the facets are screwed up and some of the discs are full.
so, i'll be scheduling another set of injections. she says i'm limping because of this. so i wonder where the MS fits in. i'm going to get a copy of the CD and report sent to my neuro.

she says she'll still give me the oxycodone altho i'm not using it much. can't figure that out after looking at those mri's, oy.

i'll let you know how it all works out. i'm going to call her PA and get her to repeat what the dr said since i can't remember.

hi everyone,

some great news! i interviewed and got a volunteer job this morning in the local hospital. and, it's in the nursery. my dream come true. just to be near babies again. and from the nursery i may get a job in the new NICU.

this all happened within 1 wk. what a whirlwind. all the pieces happened to fall together at the right time. orientation is next wk and i start the wk after that. i will work 9-1 every tues. so excited.

my best friend is coming for a wk in oct and my favorite cousins want to come for a visit in sept or oct.

and my other cousin that lives in the state is organizing an all cousins day. the older generation is passing away so we need to carry the torch and stay current with each other.

so much to look forward to.

Oh, Judy, that sounds like a dream job! What fun.....to be able to work with the little babies. They really hit the jackpot with you, too, because that's what you've been trained to do! I think they're the fortunate ones but I know you'll get just as much out of it, too. That's great news! Keep us posted on how it goes.

well, more of an answer to my vision problems which are no better, if not worse. my cataracts (shades of doydie) are worse. originally he predicted i'd need surgery in 2-4 yrs. now he thinks early next yr.

i have no clear vision altho when i'm out i can see the big picture and don't feel i have a problem driving. it's close work, any kind of printed letter.

my coccyx pain con't. and i'm set for another set of injections soon. i'm almost ready to put a stop to these. new dr, same tune. $$$$$$ ???????

it's just hard to deal with constant pain and my vision. at least i can still drive.
i should be grateful that these things can be addressed.
better go or i'll keep complaining.

Hey Judy. Sorry you are having all these vision problems. My Mom just
had surgery yesterday(she has macular degeneration and glaucoma). They
think this surgery will give her some help. I hope so as she is only 68 and
just retired.

As for the pain that just plain stinks. I am in pain daily and you just
cant get away from it.

Sending you big ol hugs

Judy

I'm really sorry about the vision problems you're having. Hopefully the surgery will correct it. MS has affected my vision drastically. I can still see but it seems to get a little worse with each passing year. Could be age helping it along, too.

I'm glad you still drive. I still do every once in a while. If the planets all line up correctly and I'm having a "good" vision day and my son can let me use his car then I'm all set to go to the grocery store! It's my one big outing I look forward to. Believe it or not I do enjoy grocery shopping but only if I can go during an "off hour" when it's not so crowded.

Hopefully the weather will be nicer for us here in the south and the awful heat will subside a little.

I hope your levels of pain are helped by the injections. I know it gets old and tiresome to have to put so much effort into trying to get a few hours/days of pain free living.

Hi Sox! Miss you around here but I know you're a busy girl. Maybe once school starts you'll get some breathing room. Sorry about the pain you deal with, too. It is exhausting.
