Feel better soon, Judy!

I wore my reading glasses in the kitchen the other day and saw all kinds of dirt I hadn't seen before when I wasn't wearing them. :o:o I'll have to remember to leave them off when I go into the kitchen!

just about 1 wk post op. this eye didn't have as good vision as the 1st but it's improving daily. the dr said the eye looks good and in another wk i should be good.

hope everyone that had their eye surgery are all doing well.

NurseNancy 12-19-2011 05:27 PM

hi guys,

my eyes are better but i made the decision to go to glasses. that way i can see near & far and don't have to keep reaching for my readers. i pick them up on wed.

my coccyx pain con't and in Jan my dr is going to try an injection. owwww.
i've had problems with con't ankle/leg/foot edema even if i wear the ted hose.
plus i'm already on diuretics. i'm kind of worried about it especially since i've gained some wt. it can only be heart related even tho i'm not technically in heart failure.

and this throat "thing" also con't. 10-15 episodes/day. i'm not convinced it's reflux....

despite all this stuff going on this will be a nice wk. lots of social things going on. and i finally got all the x-mas presents wrapped.

please you all have a GREAT CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR.
i only wish the best for all of you.

Dear Nurse Nancy

I hope your eyes get better quickly. I was reading the posts. I also had that camera snaked down my vocal cords. I wound up having an endoscopy. Acid reflex can cause what I have barretts esophogus. Please keep on top of it if you have this condition. My doctors were not watching me or listening to me very well when I had acid reflus from my medications. I also admire you for wanting to be a new skinny butt. If I can do it so can you. Thank you for being a nurse. I admire you very much as it is the nurses in the hospital that address all your needs, not the doctors. Have A blessed and peaceful Christmas. ginnie

thanks ginnie.

and, HAPPY CHANUKKAH to all my Jewish friends.

i have really been struggling with my weight. urggg.
i've gained 17 lbs since Oct. but, just lost 6. it's so hard. for me nite eating is my worst enemy. i've been clamping down on it so have lost some wt.

keeping it up is my downfall but i'm determined.
my dr has doubled my dose of diuretics because of ankle edema that won't go away. my BP is great tho. i so want to reverse the path i'm on. i know i can do it.

i've had this coccyx pain for so long. my dr just injected it for the 1st time.
and, did it hurt. the next few days was agony but i can sit again. not the greatest and i can't spend much time at the computer. my cushion is attached to my hip, er butt and i'd like to be rid of it. that will be the acid test. i'm just glad to have it.

thankfully my eyes are both good. yay!
my friend is coming in april so we're all looking forward to that. and, we're going away to a time share for a wk. i can't remember where, but we're going.

hope you're all ok. hugs to all.

Kitty 01-24-2012 06:12 PM

Judy, I struggle with my weight, too. Lose 5....gain 7.....lose 6.....gain 3. I know that's unhealthy but I seem to be on this slippery slope all the time.

I hope you can ditch the cushion soon! Even though the treatment caused pain maybe in the long run it will help. It's hard to get comfortable in any position when your tail bone hurts.

Your time share trip sounds like fun. Is it at the ocean? I'm excited for Spring to get here but not looking forward to the Summer heat.

ginnie 01-24-2012 06:22 PM

Hi Nurse Nancy

Would you please tell me what the medication was that you had injected? I am sorry it hurt. I hope you are able to loose the weight you want to also. Drink alot of water. That sure helped me. Have fun on the time share vacation. I wish everybody could take a vacation! take care, ginnie

hi ginnie,

first they inject a lidocaine type drug to numb the actual injection site.
then they inject a steroid type of med to hopefully decrease any swelling and decrease the pain. unforunately it didn't work.

however, i've had my back discs injected and those did work for a time.

ginnie 01-27-2012 09:17 PM

Hi nurse nancy

I have heard that the steroid injections don't work for everyone. I was curious as I got Katemine infussion and they did work for about 2 months. they also didn't hurt, which pleased me to no end. I am a big scaredycat with most types of injections. I am thinking however about asking for one in my ankles. It won't do me any good in the joint that needs to be replaced its too far gone. I was just thinking maybe I would give that steroid a try. I don't think they do katemine injections in the ankles. I will be asking my pain specialist about it. thanks for the information. ginnie
