Judy,

It sounds as though this new Specialist has his eye on the ball. It is irritating when our 'plans' for no procedures is upset, but do try to look on this as a positive.

Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dave.

IVC filter removal

i found someplace that has the new technique (laser/ablation) to try and remove this IVC filter i have that was put in after my back surgery.

i'm really ****** off at the medical community (nothing new with that).
the first FDA warnings came out in 2010. they were reissued against Bard and the type of filter i have in 2014. the warning was sent to "the physicians that place these filters" and Bard. that was in may. my surgery was in sept. so??? didn't anyone know that particular filter wasn't safe??

then, the FDA suggested the filters be removed by 6 mos. no one told me that. all my drs said it didn't matter, including my cardiologist. if i hadn't seen the segment on this issue on NBC nightly news.....well....

anyway i'm going up to Johns Hopkins next month for the procedure. i hope it will be successful. my friend is coming with me. i'll keep you posted.

i'm going to johns hopkins in baltimore next month to try and have that IVC filter removed.

i've been in touch with a lawyer group and plan to move ahead on some financial reparation after i see what happens. the lawyer told me that there are 3 places in the US that have the skills to take these filters out and i picked one of them.

the other 2 are stanford in CA and the cleaveland clinic in ohio.
at least my friend and i will be able to spend a wk together.

i'll check back in after it's all over. :)

i'm really tired and plan to do nothing for a few days.
