i know how time flies. the next thing you know the month is gone. So we need to remind each other.
a group of my online friends sends out a monthly email reminder and we all email back after we have done our self exam. i thought we could start a new thread each month and just hit the thank you button after you have done your exam. discussion and thoughts would be awesome too. please do your exam. it only takes about 5 minutes. spread the word to your other friends here. i know not everyone ventures outside their home forum. we could save a life. here is link that shows you how to do a self breast exam. http://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms.../bse_steps.jsp

THANK YOU & THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a survivor [HATE that word] I cannot understate how important it is to check, and be checked! My cancer was caught early. Due to my severe neuropathy, I never could 'feel' the lump, but I gotta tell you all I do not miss it one whit!. Think of it this way? That most of the time, the 'c' can have something done about it. In a way, its good to be proactive about one condition? 's to all....my arms aren't big enough to give you all the hugs of appreciation I should give you all. Curious, this is important. Finding out too late is not and should not be what happens to US! Again, another thank you. - j |

Just wanted to say what a great and thoughtful idea this is!!!!
Awhile back, in our area, they had a program called Buddy Check 12, or something like that, that my best friend and I still do to this day. On the 12th day of the month one or the other of us call each other to remind about 'the exam', and we also contact other women who are close to us to remind them as well. God Bless you All!!! Dawn

I let my husband do this for me!
Got my mammies mammied last month...fiberous breast tissue doesn't need to be biopsied...got the most awesome breast doc at Rose City Breast center. dr Mary Barnhart in Gresham Oregon. She spends an hour with her first time patients. When finished, you get a hug and long stemed pink rose. Her office, wating and exams rooms are done in gorgeous antiques, dolls and teddy bears, lace curtains, wool rugs...every sq inch of her practice is just as nice as she is. Women come from miles around to get her as their doctor. Most awesome doc arround I'd say... See...God makes some pretty special people, then places them in places we'll need them. Blessings, cheryl One of her patients drove 2 hours drive in from the coast in blizzard weather to give her a BD gift she's made, was a fabric wall hanging with pink hearts and ribbons...beautiful work, but shows how this doctor is caring for those she's treating.

Can't. Neuropathy in fingers/hands won't allow me to feel anything. I go for ultrasounds in January though

Just got my mammogram results yesterday. All clear on my home front! At least something is going my way. Thanks for this thread. I'm passing on the thought to all my female friends and their pardners.

Hopefully the word isn't censored. I have an email reminder set up with Check Your Boobies (it's the real name).
