Default PCOS and sleep

Anyone have PCOS and trouble sleeping?

My 21yr old daughter has PCOS and is always tired and has difficulty sleeping with anxiety that seems to occur at night.

What meds have helped you deal with this?

Hi Ania,

PCOS can be tied to insulin resistance. But it sure means that her hormoones are outta whack. Some docs treat PCOS resistance with Metformin.

Also Mrsd might be able to help if you also post in the vitamin forum.

Another supplement I have read about is called DIM....Diinsdolymethane...its helpful for proper estrogen metabolism. While I dont have PCOS to my knowledge I do have insulin resistance and when I take it it helps me sleep and relieves a bit of the anxiety that comes with my estrogen imbalances.

Hope that helps.

Oh another thought. Make sure to get her Vit D levels checked. And her iron. Both can be exacerbated by hormone imbalances.
