you might double check all the symptoms on the links to see if they fit for you.
Then you'll have a better idea if it is or not.
Might be something else if most symptoms don't match up.

Thank you very much for the help Jo. I had a look at the symptoms and basically all of them seem to match up. No, I can't get to the store right now because my parents have the vehicles. The pain seems to only be at night and in the early morning because I am feeling perfectly fine right now. If the pain occurs again I will tell my mom but I am definitly thinking that I have a UTI right now. :(

Well,,,today was another bad day so I let my mom in on it. She said to drink lots of liquids (which I knew) and if the pain isn't better by Saturday then she would have me go in to the docs that day. Wish me luck and health :o:grouphug::winky:

Thank you for that wish because it seems to have been granted. Last night I went to bed with no pain and I woke up today with no pain as well. I was able to get some cran-raspberry juice (100% juice) and have been religiously drinking that. That seems to have helped as well. So thank you all for your help and uplifting messages.

Trying to pick my words very carefully as I am not a woman and offering advice.:o

I've been operated on 6 times for a strictured urethra. Pain and burning while urrinating and afterwards is just a part of my life as none of the urologists can give me a permanent fix.

I'm just throwing this out there as a possibility that your gyno or a uro can check. (After my expirience with this, I hope you don't have it). They use a cystoscope (???) to check the urethra if I remember correctly.

And I apologize if I have overstepped my bounds.

I'm sorry for such the late reply. No, you are no overstepping your bounds, for this can happen to men and women alike. I will definitly have to look into that because I am sad to say that the pain hasn't fully gone away. The pain happens about every other day and now it just happens at any time, not just the morning or night.

The pain is still as intense as it used to be but I always tell myself that it will go away, just give it time. Sure enough the pain will be gone in a matter of 10 minutes to an hour.

Does it sound like I should go to the doctor?

Do you also have the feeling like you have to urinate very very often, and when you go nothing much comes out? But soon you feel like you need to go again?

Hmm - it's been over 2 weeks since you first posted here - so I think yes it's time for a dr appt.
I think if it was going to turn around for you with home/self care it would have gone away by now.

It really shouldn't be an embarrassing or painful appt.
Most likely just a urine sample needed, and they test it.
Of course if the test comes out negative for infection, then more investigation is needed.

cranberry...

Cranberries contain a substance that helps prevent bacteria from sticking to
the wall of the bladder. It does NOT cure an infection already in place.

It is mostly for prevention. There are capsules/tablets of the extract which I think are better. Most of the juices are dilute and full of sugar.

A real bladder infection involves a stabbing sharp pain in the urethra when you void. And that may last a while...or not depending. Frequency and urgency are other signs. You can have a dull ache over your public bone, and if really severe a fever or flu like symptoms.

There are tablets sold in stores in the Feminine hygiene section that contain phenazopyridine. This is an orange dye that numbs the bladder and helps with pain. It does NOT cure infection either, but helps until you can get to a doctor.
You can read about it here:
