As I sit here awake at 2A and in tears.
My hormones are out of whack and my mood is like a roller coaster. That constant pain in my side is back, I feel fluish allover, the IBS is bad again, the bloating and the fatigue. I could tell something was wrong midcycle last month when it felt like something popped when I was supposed to be ovulating. The rest of my cycle was a disaster and now here we are again mid cycle and its wrose and it feels like before. So now my fear is that the endometriosis is back. And I cannot tolerate the birth control pills and besides they are not really good for you anyway. I swear this time I am going to consider and endometrial ablation and then if that does not help, then another laproscopy I guess. I $%^&*^$ hate hormones. I can feel for you, Shelley...
I really can. I wish I could help. I had alot of problems in my late 40's. This was estrogen dominance. My holdout was also ablation, but the doctor had me try progestins for the last 10 days of the month, and that worked. I then entered menopause with less stress. And after 2 yrs I could drop the progestin drugs (I used Provera, and then Aygestin because Aygestin was gentler). I do not have endo however, so your issues are more complex. I was working midnights and that ruined me royally. I finally switched back to normal working times, and that helped too. I had terrible heavy bleeding and short months. I hope you find out what is going on. Don't forget to check out what you are eating..that gas/bloating can come from food intolerances. I am doing Beano now with all vegetables and also Lactaid milk and lactaid tablets with other dairy. These are really helping me. Also I am reacting to fructose big time since I had that sorbitol incident..so going sugar free has stopped bloating too. I cannot sleep when I have GI discomfort, either, and this makes everything worse!

Thank You both
I have an appt with m gyn on Friday. I am going to ask about the ablationas well as your thought Mrsd on the progesterone for the last 10 days of the cycle. In the meantime I have upped my B vitamins which I had laxed on. I know they help with estrogen metabolism among other things. I'll let you know what happens. |

Hi Shelley, yes I agree...hormones suck!
I take progesterine for 14 days of my cycle. It has helped but not as much as I would like. I had a D&C last year hoping that would help plus she wanted to test the cells deeper due to a cancer scare. We are still talking about a hysterectomy due to such heavy bleeding but I am holding out as long as I can...Sue
