An excellent site to visit is www.menopause.org. The North American Menopause Society. This site contains a lot of valuable information to help any woman make a more informed decision. Their "Position Statements" are VERY helpful.

I don't feel at risk for a lot of things I'd think most people worry about. There is no hx of breast or female cancers, no diabetes, no hysterectomies at all.

Oddly, my mom had one hot flash - one. I am having them like clockwork every night starting at 7 pm through 7 am. But not sweating.

(Not sweating can be a sx of syringomyelia, however, and at times it is 95 degrees out and I don't even perspire, so who knows?)

About the evening primrose oil - is there a time of day you ought to take that? Or can you take that any time?

Lightbulb just take with food.

You do not need high doses either.

One capsule of 600mg has about 60mg of active GLA.

It works better when you have adequate intake of Omega-3s.
So flaxoil is recommended as well. There are mixtures in some
stores.
this is an example:

The better your EFA status (essential fatty acid) the fewer the night sweats/flashes in general.
