And not the froggie type leap.
Saw my colposcopy doctor today. He said the procedure is much like the colposcopy, and is a 5 minute ordeal. Doesn't sound bad at all. He mentioned cramping like the Colposcopy. I got operated on for severe endometriosis a few years ago, I think I can handle the LEEP cramping Anyone else been through one? Apparently they found the 'bad' cells, versus the 'not so bad, but still bad' cells, so they're going to clean things out. Should be interesting.

Hey Laura~ Nope, didn't have the "Leep" procedure done, but a couple of my friends have. If I remember correctly, it was basically some cramping due to having to dilate your cervix a bit.
I had laser many yrs ago and yes, the one thing I remember, was the cramping, but it didn't last long. I think it's a good idea to have it done. take care and keep us posted.

You're telling me. The doc was quite concerned that this was the 'worst case scenario' for cells found. No cancer, but we certainly want to avoid that one as you can imagine!

Just as an FYI for those who require this procedure...
The 'after' cramping for me, far less than with the Colposcopy. They did a freezing needle, only felt like a pinch. The freaky part was they had me on a heart monitor and said, "You may feel your heart begin to race". It didn't thankfully. I had 2 great nurses, and my gyno Dr. is a very calm and comforting soul, so I felt at ease for the entire procedure. Now I'm seeing orange-colored stuff being 'disposed' of, but this is mentioned on the sheet (orange/brown I guess). Oh yeah, I also chewed gum which seemed to help (the nurse said I may be able to taste the freezing stuff). Now I go back in 4 months for a repeat colposcopy. Unfortunately!
