Well, I went in - not so "lovely" news, had
to have more mammograms done, and "it"
was still there. They showed me the X-Rays,
and it was deep, but comparing with the one
from October, it appears to "maybe" be benign,
but I have to return back in 6 months to do
all of this all over again!

I had something similar Sharon.

I had a spot that showed up on mammogram, and I had multiple attempts to have the area biopsied but they all failed because "it" was so very deep against my chest wall, and very difficult to get to.

I ended up having the "lump" removed in a surgical operation and it turned out to be a benign area of calcification.

I hope that your's has a similar outcome, but I can certainly understand that you may be feeling a bit stressed by it all, because I was too..

Will see the Doc on the 18th, I have to go
anyway as I have lab-work (someone's got to
keep those vampires in stock ya know!)


Seriously, I have to have the Lamictal level
checked alongside with my chemistry & hematology
to make sure there is no "screwing up" going on.
Even though I have had some seizures (a couple
of mild ones and one major one, but the titration
is going up slowly, but that is normal); but just
what I need - 3 Anti-Epileptic Drugs - NOT!

While my Doctor is aware of this "thingy" on, as
you posted, deep on the chest wall. That has to
be monitored. I go back in 6 months, but I have
a feeling he may change that to 3 months. He
is not the type of Doctor that "prolongs" things.

I had learned he obtained several opinions, and
had seen it for himself (being the long time Professor
that he is, even though retired from it, you just
cannot take the "professor" out of him *laughing*).

We know that pinions are talons, like the "feet of
eagles" and O's what what I can imply as of
Cheerios?

I wished opinions were cheerios on eagles' pinions!

Oh gee, just what I need to hear, having been back
to the Oncologist, now I have to schedule up another
appointment and to return back again. Does this ever
end? How long does it take for one to come to their
determination if it is benign or cancerous or what?
Just because it enlarged a little bit ...

WELL????

What am I supposed to do? Play the Hokey Pokey
or tell them to get moving?

Do I have to burst someone's bubble to get something
going here? Any experts out here to vouch some
advisories?

I'm so sorry for what you're going through, Southie. How frightening! Here's hoping everything turns out much better than the scenario you must be conjuring up.

It has been fluctuating back and forth
from 85 lbs to 98 lbs; and I eat like
a *pig* ...

After reading your post I needed to comment on a lumpectomy and radiation.

Fifteen years ago my sister in law had a lumpectomy and radiation. She now has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. The cells have been tested and they are NOT the same cells as her breast cancer therefore, it is not a metastasis, but a separate cancer. She happens to be a "healer" for people who are surviving breast cancer (she has a website however she is now working on her lung cancer). The point is that after further research, she has found that many women who have radiation to the chest wall for breast cancer have developed lung cancer later on. In fact, her lung that is affected is on the same side as her breast cancer and her radiation treatment.

Since lung cancer is hard to detect until late stages unless you are lucky, (does not even show up in a xray) it is very important for women who have had radiation for breast cancer be monitored frequently for development of lung cancer.

I hope this information helps some people and please spread the word.
