Default Does my kitty have breast CA?

The kitty in my avatar is all grown up now. We found Sugar abandoned in the yard last spring. We had him spayed a few months ago and thought everything would be fine.

But he has LUMPS! At first I thought maybe it was matted hair on his belly up by his front legs. But it kept getting bigger.

So today I have an appt. with the vet and will let him have a professional look-see. Sugar doesn't act sick at all. He just came in from prowling around outside and went straight to the food dish.

BTW, I would love to post an updated pic of the kitty, but my computer is having issues with my new camera & mem. card.

Aargh. Hope you will post an update after the appointment. I hope it's nothing serious.

I hope everything is okay with Sugar. Please let us know how things go. I'm praying for him!

Shocked

Oh, dear....

Kind of young for cancer. Maybe cysts or bites?

Whatever it is, let us know.

Hey Twink. My dear Molly(beagle) had a lump on her right hind. They
tested it and it was a benign cyst. She has never seemed sick either.
I hope thats what it is. hugs to you both.

Red face

Wow, I didn't know so many people visited this forum!

Several times the past couple of weeks I've felt those lumps and Sugar didn't like me messing with them. DH couldn't decide what they were either.

So 30 min. before the appt. I felt them again and finally decided that they are just hairballs! Matted kitty hair!

I called and talked with the vet receptionist. She said they could shave them, but it would have to be of a morning.

I appreciate your concern, friends. But now I'm embarrassed that I even posted.
.

I'll post again after his appt. next week (haven't made it yet).

Wink

That's a relief... long haired angora type fluffy kitties need frequent grooming. Or they mat, and the mats are hard to remove, and you get a hissy kitty as a result!

Twink, I'm so glad it's nothing serious. I'd have done the same thing. Better safe than sorry.

If Sugar goes outside a lot his fur underneath his tummy gets damp and then picks up dirt and dust. It'll continue to mat up if you don't brush him regularly. Cats love to be brushed (gently) and it'll prevent him from getting furballs, too.
