but so frustrating. A number of times, I have written posts (some rather lenghty) and when I have submitted the post, the message appears that I "haven't logged in" when I KNOW that I have logged in...I have even been "greeted" and "welcomed" as I logged in...then, when I arrive at the posting site, it states my name as having logged in...BUT, the post is lost because it seems that my logging in has not been recognized. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem...and, I would appreciate knowing what I can do about this. As emphasis and "proof" that I had logged in today, even the time that I had logged in was stated at the top righthand side of the login page....GRRRRRRR!!!!
Also, is there any way to retrieve a "lost" post such as I have described? I had responded to Thelma's post: "Let Fred lead the recognition that we all know Parkinson's kills."

Therese, the same thing has happened to me many times. So here is what I now try (to remember) to do...

Open a blank Word document or notepad document or other application. Write your post. Save it, and THEN copy and paste the text into Neurotalk. That way if there are mishaps along the way, you can go back to your original document and copy and paste it (again ) from there.

I haven't had that exact thing happen, but I check the box when I log in to always keep me logged in. I forgot the exact wording it has, but I know the "Remember Me" box is also checked.

Sometimes my internet will 'hiccup' when I'm trying to post and it will end up as a blank message. More often than not, I can hit the "Back" arrow and my original message will still be there. If my internet is being weird, I copy my entire message before I click Submit Reply, so in-case I lose it - I can just paste my message back into the message box and post it.

Sorry I don't have a fix to your problem, hopefully someone else can chime in and know how to resolve things for ya'.

I do much the same as Ellie mentioned

- click the back button, copy message and then try the refresh button and log in again if I need to.

sometimes I have 2 browser windows or tabs open - I log in on one of them and then send the message- or paste the saved message on the other.

I was having that problem for a short time but it hasn't happened lately.

Jean, Ellie and jo55 for your response to my plea for help. Now, all I have to do is remember to do the things that you have suggested. I am often very anxious to post, and that may be a real "problem" for me to remember the "tricks" that you have given to me. I really have wanted to SCREAM when that message appears that I haven't logged in, etc...maybe it's a "hint" to me that my posts are too lengthy as well I know that some are!!! lol

If you have tabs enabled always have 2 open it will be easier to remember if it is there and open already.

The same goes for browser windows if you don't use the tabs- just have 2 of them open for use all the time.

I make long posts with quotes alot...

I have learned to hit BACK before doing ANYTHING.

Then open a new window, while your post is still there, log in, and go back
to your original window. This should save your text.

I have logged back on, hit back and it works sometimes. But opening a new window is best I have found.

This site has an automatic logout feature, and that is why I think it happens.

I remember, now, that not too long ago, I did exactly what you suggested, i.e., hit BACK and logged in AGAIN...then, back to the text site and there it was...SAVED!!! In my haste to hit SUBMIT, today, I totally forgot that I had saved another rather lengthy post just as you described...thank you...thank you to all, again, for your help. I have not yet "recovered" enough to post today's lengthy message again. If/when I decide to post it again, perhaps I will condense it...then, when it's lost, I may not feel quite so frustrated!!! How's that for positive thinking???

I find that hitting the "ALT" plus the left arrow key "<-" gets a lost post back.
